Donnie Nelson strength was spotting european gems. He wanted Giannis and Mark vetoed it and he drafted Luka that might end uo being one of the best players in NBA history . I think the issue with him is that he was more of a front to the one who was actuallt running the team Cuban. He didint have much say on lots of things.

@@michelazzam173 Donnie Nelson was great at finding a euro once a decade…..but his track record of getting African American players to the Mavs was garbage. Blacks make up 75% of the NBA. Nelson almost got fired after the 2009 season, and only got another 10 years because of the championship in 2011. The Mavs didn’t win another playoff series for the next 10 years under Donnie Nelson’s leadership. I’m so glad Nelson is gone

Redundancy isn't an issue as they play the same role. DLive will add the 3-point shot in time but the team just ran to the Finals and the Mavs were a top 5 team from the trade deadline on. Of all Mavs takes I am willing to cyber box over this is it. LOL. The Mavs have been a giant trash can at Center for like 25 years with a couple season of Tyson and a couple of Donaldson the only decent seasons.... We FINALLY got a decent Center combo lets roll with it and be HAPPY. Rebound, challenge shots and rim running are far more important than WNBA style 5-out play. Dallas beat the 2nd best 5 out team, OKC, 4 games to 2. They just couldn't beat an insane Celtics team with seemingly 11 really good 2-way players on it.

All their game is within 5 feet of the basket. . One of the advantage Boston had over Dallas is Porzingis and Horford were capable of shooting 3s. Lively and Gafford could not.

I agree. He is too inconsistent with his shot. Has no mid game. It either a three or drive to the basket. Perfect off the bench though. I feel like Grimes is a better fit to start if he can stay healthy.
