Tommy said He took drums for the Ramones because he had no choice He never played drums before but here He sounds so amazing his parts are so spot on and I love it, He is my favorite Ramone Drummer!
@AgusVilla1.2 жыл бұрын
He was learning how to play with them, that's why they always sounded amazing with Tommy. Once he left the band's sound changed completely and it was never the same although I love Marky and Richie drumming style.
@hudentdw22 жыл бұрын
@@AgusVilla1. one thing I may say Richie was the better drummer He was aggressive and what the Ramones needed, don't get me wrong I loved Tommy and I appreciated Marky, I think we both pretty much agree about that, but the whole band was something else Joey, Johnny, Dee Dee they made that band very special It boggles my mind why the fucking DJs didn't want to play them on the radio they deserved more airtime.

This and I Wanted Everything are my split-for-1st-place favorite Ramones songs, Johnny and Tommy creating that wall of sound with DeeDee thumping in clearly and Joey in top form - this song cannot legally be played quietly. Nah, it comes from a Hitler speech where he said, "Today I will conquer your love and tomorrow we will conquer the world!" Song is still sarcastic though, it comes from Dee Dee's experiences getting called a Nazi just because he was German.

Why then was not so bad saying "i'm nazi" then now ?? In that times they made songs about it, but now it's a "crime", where is the logic ?
@freeourmindnews_2.010 ай бұрын
Just found out how much Ramones glorifies Nazi's and fascism. So heartbreaking :( "'I'm a shock trooper in a stupor. Yes I am. I'm a Nazi shatze. You know I fight for fatherland.." It was originally, "I'm a German soldier... I'm a Nazi sugar," but Tommy adjusted it so it wouldn't be so blatantly fascist.

Its a joke Its irônic
@freeourmindnews_2.010 ай бұрын
@@leonardomicael9473 If it was a joke, why'd he have to adjust the lyrics? Ramones was right before the Nazi Punks F***k Off movement that started in the 80's by the DK.
@afauxican_american10 ай бұрын
No, they weren’t fascists. Listen to the song Bonzo goes to Bitburg and look up what it was about. DeeDee was a clever songwriter, but he’s also as American as it gets. His dad was stationed on an army base in Germany, he lived there as a kid during the Cold War. He has a perspective about nazi germany that you and I don’t have. Also, he regularly wore US Army badges on the lapel of his jackets. He was your classic American, but I’m sure what that means is lost on you because if you’re writing this comment seriously, you probably weren’t alive when the Ramones were still a band that could fit in your back pocket.
@freeourmindnews_2.010 ай бұрын
@@afauxican_american I have heard Bonzo goes to Bitburg and it was more of an attack on Reagan's political policies, versus blatant nazi affiliation. Bitburg was also mainly written by Joey, who was very liberal minded in comparison to Johnny and Deedee. Deedee has song lyrics literally saying he's a Nazi, but I guess to a fan boy like you, it's easy to explain away.
@afauxican_american10 ай бұрын
@@freeourmindnews_2.0it’s not about being a fanboy, it’s understanding who the Ramones are. It’s funny to see people saying this now all these years later. By your logic, Reagan Youth were literal KKK grand wizards and had an album sponsored by the David Duke society. Get real.
