I think you did play optimally in your first loss. If you went with Ugin first, they would've killed Ugin the turn after and winning would've taken longer. So you went for the fastest route to winning, which is correct. On the other hand, in your second Embercleave loss, if you had chumped with Innkeeper when you considered doing it, you would have had 5 life more in their Embercleave turn, so you wouldn't have died there, and Vivien would have killed Embercleave afterwards, which might have given you a chance to come back.

There is a difference. Suspect is the one being doubted, while you are suspicious when you doubt someone. So when you say "he must be suspect" is not correct bc you mean "he must be thinking something is wrong here", which makes you suspicious of someone's behaviour, that other person is the suspect
