Imagine if everyone that got eye poked by john jones didnt try to continue (and in most cases almost instantly lose). How many losses would he have due to that? not being able to continue due to an eye poke is alot of the times a DQ. People that get away with playing loose with these rules get away with them because the other fighters try to tough it out. great for cheaters, and MMA highlights when they get headkicked after an eye poke. Horrible for the fighters getting poked in the eyes.

I never liked that kick either. Atleast with kneebars you can tap before you get injured. With the kick though you don't get that chance. Unless you had knee problems before, you wouldn't know how horrific it is having one. I got tendonitis in both knees from running, and I couldn't walk right for like half a year until it finally calmed down and healed. The pain was so bad I couldn't bend my legs to put socks on. Injuries that you don't want are back and knee problems. I had a bad herniated disc that I had surgery on and still have nerve damage from it because the hospital didn't consider it an emergency surgery. While I was waiting for months for the sugery, I could feel the nerves in my legs dying. Now you could stab me in the foot and I'd feel nothing. Luckily I can walk normal but still in pain everyday.

Obviously all the steroids, eye pokes, glove grabbing is against the rules, the only debatable one is the oblique kick, I think it's dirty for the same reason other techniques are considered "dirty". Like nuts shots, eye pokes, small joint manipulation, strikes to the spine, the oblique kick is a technique that can do long term damage without much skill or effort and that is the sole reason it is used, because it's easy and can cause serious injury that can end a fight or even a career.

Ignorant comment. It's not a street fight. Sport fights are sanctioned, regulated, and rules are established to protect fighters from permanent damage, such as blindness from eye gouging and blown out joints from kicks directly to the knee cap. Fighters agree to them when they fight for the promotion. It's difficult for refs to say the eye pokes weren't accidental. Jones was warned repeatedly in his fights, and would only poke enough not to get DQd.

Lol entire comment section saying Jon is a trash fighter and Rampage was great when Rampage literally says in the video that his fight against Jones was the fight where he was closest to being 100% ready and fit and yet he still lost. It’s crazy how people who watch these videos seem to ignore the fact that the people who are criticising Jon are also lauding him as the greatest ever but people are only interested in hearing that someone great is actually trash lol.

😂😂 you’re so delusional, yeah we hate him because he’s so successful 😂😂 dude is a scum bag, hit and run a pregnant woman, does coke, popped for PEDS and does illegal tactics constantly yeah bro 😂 he’s really the greatest 😂😂😂 he’s a scared fighter who always feels like he needs an edge I guarantee any clean fight he gets slept shit Dominick beat him but you Jon meat glazers will stuff your mouth before admitting 😂

Knee/oblique kicks are just as dangerous as a submission on the limb or knockout. So I disagree there. Eye pokes? Another story.

Next: They need to protect fighters by providing protective body armor, pads & helmets w/eye shields. Then there’s: “I’m prepared to die, kill, win or lose.” Jon is a bad, flawed & gifted “beast” man, trying to be good…outside of the cage. You lock any man or anything into a cage, then complain about combat “within combat rules”, should be banned/outlawed; I can see your hindsight logic.

I myself would like to see the MMA organization called on e championship take one of their division champions one of their most decorated in most accomplished champion and put them up against The division champion in the UFC and they could say you have bragging rights for the year to say that your father is better than mine and each year do a different division and have those guys fight and then you can you know what I mean that would be something fun I think to see but Dana White and probably the owners because I think they're too but being truthful about things I don't think that won championships heavyweight champion I don't think he is good enough to beat Play Jon Jones or a Tom aspinal but I do think he could be a lot of the guys in the top 10 because he is a good fighter but he is just not that good his biggest thing is basically throwing a few punches and then just taking you down with his weight and beating you while you're on the ground that's basically it. But for me I would like to see some of the smaller weight classes do this if Dana White and the owners of won championship where to ever do something like this I would like to see someone like demetrious Johnson he used to be a champion of the UFC come over with his belts and fight the the champion at the same weight class and when the fight is over and there is declared winner the winner gets his belt bag and also would get the belt from the company won championship and then for like a year they would have bragging rights that their fighter was better then our fighter was for a year same thing would go if we won we would have bragging rights for a year but then the next year instead of going back just to the same weight class you go to a different weight class but they're every time that they these two organizations me you have two of the belt holders fighting each other for bragging rights for the year I just think that would be interesting to see but we know they're not going to ever happen people's worried about losing too much millions of dollars

Rampage will always be one of my favorite fighters of all time. In his prime he was a monster. That's why I think Jon is the goat, I didn't dominated the most stacked division probably ever. He beat so many former champions. I think if Jon wins the belt and beats stipe for a successful title defense there isn't a argument anymore. I love gsp but jones will definitely be the goat.
