I actually prefer these tournament vlogs especially when it shows the realistic side of poker. It helps to soothe my own tournament pain by knowing I'm not alone. :)

Fr I felt like a dumbass showing up to my first tournament and losing on the second hand but after watching a professional do it makes me feel like that’s just how it goes sometimes
@jacob61194 Жыл бұрын
10k buy in or $500 buy in... it's tough losing flip after flip when you're making the right GTO plays. I got 1010 all in pre vs AK for 2 bullets in $400 bounty tourney this weekend. Lost two flips. Way she goes sometimes. Sick game 😅
@sallyboy66 Жыл бұрын
Not necessarily the realistic side. More like where all the nits play. Pure raw poker is in the cash games
@chevedew9251 Жыл бұрын
Pls play cash. Post flop play is much more interesting than seeing flips. Sure trophies are nice, but thought process and maneuvering with analysis is much more interesting. Thanks! Great stuff. Keep up the sun run!

Holy fuck was that a roller coaster of a video, tournament poker seems so brutal at times Like being a winning player is about long term optimal play and profitability but in a tourni, just playing well isn’t enough and you really gotta get lucky and run good Also I’m so psyched for the million dollar cash game you’re playing later this month, sending you my prayers bc holy fuck I’d be shitting myself with that much money on the table

Ethan, your go for broke tourney style is great when you are sun running. However, no one runs hot the majority of the time. You need to find a balance and learn how to fold those mid level hands, especially on the river. That all in shove on a stone cold bluff full house board made no sense at all as it was an easy sniff out for the guy with middle pair 7’s. Bet 1/2 your stack and maybe he see’s it as a value bet vs. a stone cold bluff. If he calls at least you still have some chips. Tournaments are a marathon not a sprint.

I appreciate the way you play tournys. If you ever read "the biggest bluff" she has a part where she says she was playing tournys, cashing well, but her coach, the legend Eric Seidel told her she was cashing too often meaning she wasn't taking risks and min cashing too much vs trying to get a big stack aka ginger variance poker early in tournys. Who does that sound like? You Rampage! I think your style is well suited for tournys as you embody that philosophy and once deep in a tournys you sometimes stay too aggressive/high variance for my liking, but no doubt it is the right strategy for early to post-bubble play. Can't wait to see day 2! Good luck
