This video was so much fun. So many great looks. I have always been an advocate of subtly mixing patterns and colors to give my outfit a touch of class. Makes you feel good to look good.

I love that you went through a bunch of ideas with one of the jackets. I own that one, so this is right up my alley. Thank you so much! Please do the biscuit next!

IMHO the large stripe Bengal shirt with medium blue tie is my favorite combo and quite striking in a subtle way!

Thank you Sir. I just turned 51 & was feeling a little reluctant to wear a grey suit, as I was afraid it would, with my grey hair make me look even older, but those dark grey suits are amazing!

Thank you, I enjoy wearing grey more than ever now I have grey hair. (I’m almost 54)

As a young adult, I think the word "mature" might be more fitting. Salt and pepper look can make you look extremely elegant in my opinion.

I am very fond of the grey waistcoat, any helpful hints on sources to obtain a similar one?
@chrismodoo656317 күн бұрын
Yes…try shops that specialise in morning dress. If you decide on a made to measure or bespoke, the cloth is a 360g flannel from VBC

Excellent selections all around. I tend to prefer to wear ties with tailoring, but I find that burgundy knitted polo particularly appealing. I suppose burgundy has always been a favorite color of mine for ties, and it works for me with knitted polos as well.

Thanks Chris, I have a very similar dark grey glen check tweed jacket which never gets its fair share of rotations as I've not been confident in how to style it. As always your videos are a source of inspiration.

Wonderful combinations. Looks like I need to get a light grey or off-white waistcoat 👌. Is the pocket square from the look with the grey shantung tie, actually your grey and bronze geometric bandana? If so, I'm surprised it works, being 65 x 65 cm in wool/silk. You'd expect it to be too bulky.
@RampleyandCoАй бұрын
Hi, thanks for the question. We actually have pocket squares in the same design in wool-silk blends that we will be releasing on the website in the not too distant future. As you have seen on the videos, they are incredibly versatile designs!

When Chris talks about "tobacco suede shoes" does he mean the lighter brown or even reddish suede sometimes called polo or snuff suede by various brands?

I'm a bit suspicious of wearing a pocket square in a business context, more so if I was customer facing. It looks superfluous, flamboyant, maybe vain, in that context, though it adds to an evening outfit.
@SvensLabАй бұрын
It depends on the business of course. In an artisanal or creative environment all fine and dandy, but for banking or serious B2B meeting it can give the look of playfulness. That playfulness can be seen as a bad thing, but if you really want to wear a pocket square you can pair for example a navy suit with a midnight blue pocket square in a simple fold. The darker pocket square IMHO shows personality but signals that you can tone it down for the business. A different approach would be a classic white linen presidential fold, that as classic and businessy as you can get.
@StephenCowley001Ай бұрын
@@SvensLab Yes, I was talking about a finance office, not the literary side of life.

Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts! We completely understand where you're coming from - pocket squares can feel a bit bold in a business setting
@zacharyelias464310 күн бұрын
I think the fold matters a lot with a pocket square. A simple presidential is classic. A 3 point or something else is too much for most.
@JapanDaleCarnegie10 күн бұрын
A puff fold can be just enough to be differentiated but not too much flash. A reverse puff can be pulled off too but the visible points need to be only just visible and not prominent. A huge puff or a big spikey reverse puff would be too much for any conservative client meeting. It also depends on how colorful the picket square is of course and a muted tone can be carried off without scaring the horses. When I am delivering training I always choose a white shirt to avoid any signs of perspiration, a muted color in the tie and pocket square and a deep positioning inside the breast pocket so that none of this will compete with my face for the attention of the class participants.
