I'm a Rams fan but I disagree with this now being the way to build a team. I think you have to build a solid base and at least be a playoff level team before you start trying to trade for stars. One thing I have always always given Snead credit for was his ability to draft. That was why I never wanted him out when a lot of people did. I felt Fisher was hindering the talent being brought in, and going 11-5 in Sean's first year made me feel like that thought process was correct. We went out and signed big Whit and Woods the first free agency class with McVay. The build wasn't just the last couple years. It was a process that took some time but eventually paid off.

You can’t just applaud McVay. The organization he is in is a great place for players. LA will always attract stars. Pretty much, no other franchise in the NFL has the market that attracts stars like LA does. Imagine if McVay was in Cincinnati, Minnesota or Detroit. He couldn’t have pulled none of this. The market his franchise is in is the reason they were able to get some of the crucial parts of this team.

The Rams were not a good team prior to McVay showing up. I think you're missing Achos' point. Teams need to stop holding on to chips/talent/potentials and go all in. Case in point, the Vikings. Are we going to sit here and forget that they had a team with Stefon Diggs and Adam Thielen? They were also stacked on Defense with Kendrick, Barr and Everson Griffen. That's a legit team. What was there weakness? QB. Instead of trading chips/players for guys like Phillip Rivers or Stafford, they decided to throw big money to Kirk Cousins. I think this area is where the NFL lacks in comparison to MLB and NBA where everyone's unloading on picks and talent for win now players.
@kerke46392 жыл бұрын
@@wormsdotcom Yeah I agree with you that he was possibly the most important piece for them to become a powerhouse but the question is who's retirement would affect the team more. They kind of have the culture built at this point. McVay is great but you will be getting a head-coach id McVay retires whether he is good or bad and you have some really good options out there. There is not another Aaron Donald. And you cannot replace Aaron Donald if he retires. And at the end of the day, a coach can be bad but your team might still have success, but you are not having major success without stars on your team because as good as McVay is, he doesn't go out there and runs over multiple people while getting sacks, or even throws or catches the ball. The value of a star player in this league is much more than anything.

The interesting thing about the McVay and Snead's model is how many people really don't understand it. The narrative that they have no draft picks isn't actually true (they have eight in the upcoming draft counting compensatory picks). The narrative that they have no cap room isn't true. Gurley and Goff come off the cap; Whitworth more than likely retires, other players they know are not coming back and they are suddenly at $40M in cap space. Do they have first or second round picks in 2022? No, but it would be really hard to argue that anyone that they would pick at picks #32 and #64 would have an equal benefit to Stafford and Miller--both in 2021 and potentially for 2022 and 2023. Do they have a history of finding roster players (and starters) from the 3rd round on? Yes. Is letting some rentals leave and then collecting the compensatory picks part of their strategy? Yes. Does Les Snead nearly always come out of drafts with more picks than he went in with? Yes. The simple fact is that the Rams have NEVER had a first round pick while McVay has been coach (and he inherited part of that with the Goff trade the year before he got to LA) and have been in the playoffs 4 of 5 years, have been to two Super Bowls (both times coming in severely short-handed due to injuries) and has won one. Look at the 10 years before he showed up. The Rams do look at things differently than nearly every other team, and it's really hard to argue against their model at this point in time.

Acho's correct...Cincy should have had Mixon in on that third and one. Maybe we are singing a different tune today.

Can the producers add joy as a co host.. I think she’d fit well with these two as well as colin if she could work the double

I used to love this show, but these guys are trying too hard now, they're turning into giant wind bags and the analogies are getting way too complex. I'm totally convinced Acho likes the sound of his own voice

What is Wiley talking about? He literally led the drive vs the chiefs two weeks ago.

Did McVay become the GM? Where did they get Kupp and Donald from?

We had electric vehicles a 100 years ago, it didn't last, I doubt these today will last either. Only good for short distances. Great game!

Acho is taking over reaction Monday a little too serious . KC is mostly drafted and has been to 2\3 super bowls and the last 4 afc championships . Also who sold more cars last year ford or Tesla ?
@Manny-nm8dh2 жыл бұрын
I was thinking the same thing. You don't always have to trade for a super team; you can still draft one.

The problem is can Cincinnati actually find late round talent picking later in the draft?

Who did sell more cars? I'm interested 😆
@RITAS19642 жыл бұрын
@@fansonate3435 Ford. Which makes his point moot. We purchase Fords because of longevity, seen performance etc., just as you do in selecting vets; they have proven what they can do vs. what they may do.

@@EnterpriseNCC-1701 Cindy obviously could draft depth but they mostly need oline which yes you can find later in rounds

So if Tampa Bay did it the year before, how is McVay the forward thinker?

The Rams can very easily create $60M in. Am space due to expiring contracts. ✌🏾
@rexyoshimoto42782 жыл бұрын
? In the late 60's and early 70's, there was a guy named George Allen who was trading away first and second round picks acquire seasoned veterans. He did this on the Rams and the Redskins.. . Did he succeed? He was only defeated in the Super Bowl. I think he did.
