Wow, if you go to the Rams roster, the Rams have a big team! These dudes on the OL are 6’7, 6’8, 6’5
@Pandoventures2 ай бұрын
You're so caught up in Stetson being a starter. The dude was out of football for a year; he's going to have some rust. What's more intriguing about him is whether or not he can be our QB1 in the future. Clearly, McVay sees something in him, or he wouldn't have kept him on the roster. We can all agree that McVay is just a little better at evaluating talent than Travis, which is why Travis's opinion is so laughable. I'm gonna trust McVay knows what he's doing.

@@excession30 I'm not saying McVay is right 100% of the time. Clearly, he was wrong about Rypien. I’ll even agree with Travis, Bennet didn’t look good in game 1 and might never develop into a starting QB in the NFL. The problem I have with Travis is how he criticizes. It’s when he says things like, the only play Stetson ran well was the last play of the game, or when he says: “It would make me very nervous that the head coach doesn’t feel like he needs to be there to shepherd me (Stetson) through” referring to the fact that McVay will be in the broadcast booth during some of the game. How he says McVay “doesn’t care” about preseason because he lets the coaches and 2nd/3rd string players take over the game. Maybe McVay loves preseason because it’s a chance for the coaches and 2nd/3rd string players to get valuable reps in actual game scenarios. Maybe he loves the preseason because he can get a better idea of their leadership skills by handing the reins over. I personally love watching the Rams in preseason more than ever. Seeing guys like Tyler Davis, Jordan Whittington, Puca Nacua last year, and yes, Stetson Bennet get a chance to play pretty much the entire game! It’s exciting, and I’ll bet valuable in evaluating the Ram’s depth. The point is, it’s insulting for Travis to assume what’s going on in Stetson’s or McVay’s head. DMAC, on the other hand, gives criticism without being insulting. For example, he says, “If Stetson Bennet doesn’t go out there and perform, it’s gonna be difficult to see him making this roster.” This critique doesn’t go the way of assuming what the coaches or players are thinking. I’ll end with this: Travis acts like he’s a shock sports commentator when he’s on a Ram’s fan podcast. This should be a place for discussion, not a place to get attention by making shocking, outlandish, and insulting comments. And that’s why I called him laughable.

I COMPLETELY disagree that preseason games are not important. There's a difference between playing a team in a practice/scrimmage scenario and playing in the stadium against an opponent in front of a live audience in a real game situation for rookies.
@Ramsman342 ай бұрын
Preseason is useless except for evaluating the tackling ability of guys on the roster bubble. Joint practices are harder than games. Waaay more situational reps running your actual schemes. Ask any vet player and he’ll tell you how much more valuable joint practices are than preseason “games”. If these games had any real value, MCV would play more guys who will actually make the team.

Every game is crucial obviously, BUT if the RAMS can win WEEK 1 vs the LIONS, our schedule sets up well to then win 11 or 12 games. * It's MY OPINION we are much better than the Seahawks or Cardinals, getting 3 out of 4 of those games is likely!

I actually agree with Travis this time about Stetson needs to have ZERO INTs this week. He needs to really get that under control. What I don't agree with Travis on is that Stetson needs to be a game manager in preseason. I like to see him taking shots, that's the way a young QB learns what he can and can't do. Hopefully Bennett learned from last week.

Counting the one negated by penalty, 5 interceptions in one game, given his general lack of excellence, makes him an experiment who didn’t work out. The Rams need a QB3 who can run the offense while completing at least 55% of his passes with minimal turnovers. Stafford and Jimmy G are injury prone. QB3 matters.

When the lights are on how do they respond. Absolutely need preseason games. Not 4 but have to have at the very least 2.

This is simple. Play very well in the pocket; without interceptions; and hit passes over 30 yards, and Bennett earns a roster spot. Talk about some talent to look for, how about Omar Speights, Tyler Davis, and WRs Drake Stoops and Sam Wiglusz. The WR room has almost no space, but these two are talented.
@dr.pakadoc7172 ай бұрын
Welp, over a dozen 3-5 yard passes, an interception and a fumble. 6 turnovers to 2 TDs in the span of two games, and everyone gushed he played good enough. As I wrote before, “Sorry Dresser Win” you’re gonna lose your spot.
