This is by far one of the best versions of this beautiful song, someone at last has sung it slow like it should be sang and for once I can hear every word, As Siobhan wrote before most people singing this have ruined it by singing in too fast a tempo, takes me back to when I was a child back in the 1950s and we used to sing this song regularly.

I have heard this classic song sung by many folk but! most of the voices i've heard literally ripped the arse out of it. Tony Christie and Ranagri in my opinion has done Star of the County Down JUSTICE. This is how this song should be done. WELL DONE lads. FANTASTIC job.

calm down my friend. Tony Christie is from Irish roots. His reasons for doing this song is to relive his memories from songs he heard from his Irish family growing up. Many of us have Irish roots and have memories of our folks recounting the past my self included.
