I have the 80 & it's terrible. I would not recommend it to anyone. A complete waste of money. I've complained to Rand Mcnally several times, and they say it's not the device, its satellite problems. I have done all the updates & reset it several hundred times. I don't even try to use it as a tablet anymore. And the dash cam on the tablet is also a complete POS. Only for truck GPS. Hoping this latest set of updates helps. Thanks for the video. It didn't really tell me anything I didn't know, but it confirmed that everyone has the same issues with it.

Thanks for putting this up deffintly answered my main question about the play store and apps That's my turnoff either way if I can't use them as a full android device I'll just keep using my Samsung tablet for GPS. Just hate trying to keep up with multiple devices. I kinda wish Rand Mcnally would just sale the software for tablet devices as I do like the setup.

Well I’ve had The TND 80 . And I’ve had the 7 inch pro. I think they’re both junk. I had no problem with the TND 80 as far as watching Netflix it worked fine the map section sucks the truck will spin around the map a spin around it goes on the side roads that you’re not on he gets lost constantly. 7 inch pro I didn’t have it three months and let’s say I have a 500 mile run on the same road it was shrink down to 2 inches and I can see the checkered flag it was say it was set on 135 miles out but I can see all 500 miles about every state in the country. I can mainly just It to 1 mile out after 35 to 40 seconds it will go to where it want to go it’s junk I’ve had the 710 and the 720 the 730 and a 735 they’re all junk

Could you plz explain how to update/ reset ? Bcz When i type an adresse it takes a while to display & slow Storage 52% used , is there any way to free up space by resetting ? Thx to reply.

Sorry for the late reply I'm actually not using any gps now as I'm not an over the road truck driver anymore but I will say the over drive pro 8 would be my choice 😊

In my opinion, just buy a separate GPS unit and if you want a tablet too, then buy a separate tablet as well. Never try to combine two different devices as you will always end up disappointed with one or the other if not both. Moreover, in my opinion, the older TND 730 display screen is far better than the newer TND 740 display screen as well. In that, you can easily read everything you need to read on the display screen while going down the road, whereas in the new TND 740, you can't. So, I'd recommend, only if you can, skipping the new TND 740 and waiting for the new TND 750 to come out. As Rand McNally has received a deluge of complaints about the new TND 740 display screen and hopefully will revert back to the same or very similar screen it had in the older TND 730 model. That's my two cents.

@@kevinemo6891 Everything I have read and everyone I have talked to that owns the TND-740 says there is no way and no controls available in the newer TND-740 to increase the Font size to make the items drivers' need to see any easier to see. Hence, until Rand McNally reverts back to the same display they had in the previous TND 730, which was perfect, in my opinion, then I will stay away from Rand McNally and go with the Garmin instead. Not to mention, that Garmin has finally improved their truck stop database as well. For instance, Garmin now indicates how many truck parking spots are available at most truck stops. Which is the first thing I look at when considering a truck stop to stop for the night and Rand McNally does not include that? Which forces drivers to use something else to find suitable truck stops. I don't know why Rand McNally chooses to be deficient in that one area, as it wouldn't take that much effort at all for them to make that available. In fact, they could easily include that and then make it available in an update. When I'm looking to find a place to shut down in the evening for the night, I'm not going to head to a truck stop with not a lot of parking spots available because quite often there will be no available parking there. So I usually look for the truck stops with the largest number of parking spots available, as opposed to wasting my time only to find out I can't park there.

@@kevinemo6891 Oh, you are talking about a tablet. Well, I would never buy a damn tablet because first of all, they are very overpriced and second, the tablet is a cheap piece of junk. As I said in my previous post, don't waste your time and hard earned money buying a 740 on an overpriced tablet. Get a standalone GPS unit separate from a tablet. If you want a damn tablet, then buy a good tablet and if you want a good GPS, then buy a good GPS, but don't combine the two hoping that both will do the job because they won't. As everyone I have talked to that bought either the 730 or the 740 on the tablet told me they had a lot of regrets and would never do it again.
