FTL Hard mode, NO pause, Random Ship Streaks! Crystal A, 27th run

June 18, 2024 stream, playing FTL on hard difficulty with NO pausing! We are TWO ships away from completing the full cycle of 28 ships, and both ships we have left are quite strong! With only 2 ships to choose from, we random until we hit the Crystal A. This ship starts with 2 pretty good crystal weapons that pierce one shield as well as the Crystal Vengeance augment that is good for an early scrap boost. No idea what FTL is, or what you are doing. But A. I don't believe you when you said that you do not have fun, I can clearly see this is a passion for gaming and high highs with low lows that accompany such enthusiasm and enjoyment in the brain. And B. Your enjoyment and intimate knowledge of mechanics is getting me interested to try this game for fun. Oh and C. I think you are doing a good job overall in general and I'm not sure what other people are telling you feedback wise but here is mine: I don't think you should change anything, I feel that you are in a good place and doing exactly ideal performance. Man (haven't not seen 28 if it exists) I gotta say I've always admired your decision making when it comes to running. It feels awful to do, and thus many players myself included will stick it out and fight it, "winning" but net losing on resources hull damage etc. at a glance it looks cowardly, but is really high level thinking especially when you walk through your logic it helps share that with people. Thanks for the great vids Rand :)

Even when I was a new player(which was at least 3k hours of play ago) I never forgot to pause for long because let me tell you, getting wrecked has way of reminding people that pause exists very fast and in a hurry. I cannot play without pause, that is just not happening. I can micro just fine as long as I can pause. But without pause I can't function correctly and that will never change.

Rand, you're supposed to do whatever makes this life bearable...if not cooking does that then all power to you. The kids who have their mom making them food every day in chat generally don't understand that as an adult there's more to just "go make food".

Hey Rand, hope the final run went well since I haven't watched it yet but just wanted to say if you really think your health issue is dietary my cousin is a registered dietary nutritionist and somewhat recently started her own business. I don't want to shameless plug but I'd be glad to drop her business' name or send it to you somehow if you want to look into it as an option to get guided dietary treatment. To be fair it would likely include more home cooking, but either way I hope you find a way to start feeling better!
