My grandpa drove a truck for 33 years and just passed in September of 2018 from brain cancer. He would tend to forget a lot and come right back to where we left off without a beat. This song really hits home. I miss that man every day and if it wasn't for him, I wouldn't be driving a truck today. God bless him and all the truckers out there getting it done for this great country!

This is a very good song. It has a good message in it when you have a dad who was a driver and has went on to a better place because of Alzheimer's.

My Grandfather recently died in March. He had dementia for 5 years or so, until his body caught up with his mind. This song makes me tear up but I still remember who he was before that disease took him. I’m proud of him and proud of the fact I got to care for him. I still miss him so much though

My father has dimentia and early alzheimers its so hard to see the rock of the family reduced to such a hard thing to watch. I love my father so much and hate to see him like this. I cherish the days with him and love talking with him even when he forgets me. So many great memories coming up as a kid and as an adult with him. Never take any time for granite. Cherish every moment like it the last.

Years ago after getting my degree as a PT Asst. had an Alzheimer’s patient & oh how it touched my heart to care for him & feel sad how it is to see him not know his wife of many years 😢 Prayers for those who deal with a loved one stricken with this sad disease. 🛐

lyrics ⚡️❤️🤠 He talked about burnin' it up In a loaded down truck Haulin' thirty tons Back in the day All those years on the road Gears shifted down low Eighteen wheels; fast, slow Rolling away Everything he's done And everyone he loved Some days he remembers Some days he just don't Some days you come knockin' and nobody's home And you gotta just leave him alone But the light comes on every once in a while Like he was never gone, gives me a smile And we pick up right where we left off Those precious moments are getting fewer and further between When he knows me I've been a foe and a friend And an old field hand Handsome man that he met somewhere That nobody knows 'Cause all he has is the past And he keeps slipping back Happy or sad, good, bad It's a heavy load Everything he's done And everyone he loved Some days he remembers Some days he just don't Some days you come knockin' and nobody's home And you gotta just leave him alone But the light comes on every once in a while Like he was never gone, gives me a smile And we pick up right where we left off Those precious moments are getting fewer and further between When he knows me Some days he remembers Some days he just don't Some days you come knockin' and nobody's home But the light comes on every once in a while Like he was never gone, gives me a smile And we pick up right where we left off Those precious moments are getting fewer and further between When he knows me He talked about burnin' it up In a loaded down truck Haulin' thirty tons Back in the day
