Haha, I did that, actually my friend and I were being harassed by a double wide column of cops being led by their captain. He was saying that we had to move on because clearing the sidewalk after an event. He wanted us to go away. I asked him what law I was breaking. He said doubtfully… curfew? I’m a grown woman. Obviously I’m much older than any “curfew” laws. I told him so. My friend and I were taking photos of two guys, so then the cop looked over at them as if to suggest that maybe he could try to stretch credulity and imply that they might be breaking curfew. Of course, by now he’s making an idiot of himself. He knew he couldn’t ID them because they hadn’t broken any law, he couldn’t just assume that maybe they were under age, when it was definitely doubtful, they were clearly in their 20s, of course they weren’t of curfew age, because whatever age that is, they were grown men, or we wouldn’t have been taking pictures of them, but they weren’t inappropriate photos anyway, after all, we’re standing on the street, fully clothed nothing inappropriate whatsoever, so I said to him “I love a man in uniform, can I take your picture, too?” He got flustered and declined, so then I asked if I could take pictures of some of the other male officers, if any of them would like to allow me to take their picture these handsome men here, all in uniform, (fine, strapping men they were),to which he declined on their behalf. From the body language of some of them I got the impression that if he wasn’t there they would’ve happily agreed, but then they would not have detained themselves in the first place. By then he had made quite a fool of himself, trying to run two grown women off the sidewalk for just standing there taking pictures, when they have a whole unit standing there wasting their time, and his officers started snickering at him, because they could see how ridiculous it was, too. But I remained very polite and cheerful, but I did refuse to “move on”, because I had a legal right to be there. I came to take pictures, and I was going to finish what I came to do. Captain kid peering over my shoulder to see what I was getting in frame. They all stood there and waited, which is fine with me. If you want to waste tax dollars and the time and resources of three dozen cops, plus their leader to stand there and do absolutely nothing, well, that’s our tax dollars in action. It’s kind of a compliment that it’s now up to three dozen cops it has taken to “handle” me. Haha… before that, the most had only been two… and that was for… Walking across the street. I am so dangerous, walking across the street, and taking photographs. Haha… And people who say they get harassed for their skin tone, well, though I tan very well, and my skin shade varies extremely depending on how much sun I do or don’t get, I would not be considered a minority in my country, but I have had MORE than my share of run-ins with police officers for doing absolutely nothing wrong. I’ve been pulled over when the cop was in the left-hand turn lane, waiting for the light, and had no reason to pull me over….except he turned and looked at me there in the forward lane, and he decided he would make up a reason. If I had done what he made up and said I did, he would’ve been behind me, not in the left-hand turn lane next to me going somewhere completely different. It happens to all of us. There are just some people that like to abuse power, and any target will do. And we shouldn’t focus on their profession as a whole, or on a particular quality of their targets if that is totally random in truth. Ready to focus on corrupt people who abuse power, no matter what their profession is. It’s true some people who abuse power create a very specific type of target, but most of them will just target anybody that they perceive as vulnerable, and if they have a badge or they have some other agency backing them up, then everyone’s a weakling to them. Everyone except people above them in power. So it’s abuse of power that we should be isolating and eradicating.

When my grandmother was a widow and lived by herself in an apartment, I would go see her often. And when I would leave, she would stand on her balcony and wave, and to make sure I walked safely away. The water park one is just awesome. Since he apparently was at the low income housing, these are kids who likely would never get to go to a place like that. As a teacher I find it fabulous giving these kids joy. Even though I teach older kids (college), I try to do some fun things to keep their interest and engagement. It’s priceless when I see the joy on their faces. I’m sure the man who brought all of these kids to the water park got as much out of it as they did. Beautiful.

@garyedwardgray7549
@garyedwardgray7549 Жыл бұрын
@@engledelaffety4380 Expected. And foolish. I knew someone would have this idiotic opinion. Some uber-woke lunacy. And don’t get me wrong. I’m plenty liberal (on social issues, at least). I’m sensitive to the point I know you’re trying to make with your reply, despite not explaining yourself. I get it. And it’s foolishness. I’m not trying to start an argument. My guess is, based on this comment, you and I would agree about 95% of the time. So I appreciate and understand the comment. But this is that other 5%. You’re being ridiculous. Get over it. I knew someone would have a reaction like this. Pathetic. No good deed goes unpunished. I guess we should all just be miserable pricks to one another. Then you’d be happy. At least no one would mistakenly offend your ridiculous moral authority while trying to do some good in this world. If we were all complete a*holes, hey, at least we’d never offend your pretentious sensibilities. So, yes, everyone be hateful, obnoxious and rude. Heaven forbid anyone step over some undefined, pretend, fake outrage line. Reminds me of the left’s cultural appropriation garbage. There is no such thing. It’s call APPRECIATING someone else’s culture. And y’all turn a positive, liberal, broad minded ideal into something bad. Cultural appropriation doesn’t exist. AND you’re wrong, this is not offensive. If you believe so, you need to re-evaluate your entire life. You think you’re some liberal, good, decent person, when you’re really a close-minded, mean spirited individual looking to knock people for doing good. You wonder why the “right” hates the woke crowd. Exhibit A. I’m “left” and I hate the “woke” for just this reason. You’ve gotta walk on eggshells even when you’re trying to do good. It’s pathetic. And it completely ANTI-liberal, because it’s a 100% close-minded, narrow view of what’s acceptable. You’re not open-minded or liberal. You’re no better than right wing extremists. You’re the same beast in different clothes. And THAT is the problem with the woke mob. They are ultra-conservative left wing. I know, it sounds like an oxymoron. It’s not. Trumpists are ultra-liberal right wing. Look ate your/their beliefs and policies. It’s a simple fact. Bottom line: get over yourself. This isn’t offensive. Let people who mean we’ll do good without your absurd, unhinged criticism.

I believe too that for every self-serving Karen/Ken, there's a selfless, loving, kind person - for every hate-filled group, there is a support group that cares. Kind people ACTUALLY make up the fabric of this country. We just don't get exposure to them or their good deeds as much. Higuey, Dominican Rep. I saw this strong and young man, at the traffic light trying to clean windsheilds for few coins. Everytime he tried to , drivers just put their wipers on. When the light turned green, he went and sat down on the ground, from far away, i could the sadness in his eyes like he gave up while putting his head down. I walked to him and give a money bill big enough to eat something for the day. He lifted his lit wide eyes and said " Thanks man" while his voice trembling in happiness and sadness. It feels so great and it still does

Random acts of kindness are wonderful. I'd like to caution anyone against filming someone homeless or in other difficult situations. It feels like a performance at the expense of their suffering/struggling. I know it mostly comes from a good place but think about it from their perspective. If you want to help someone in need, do so quietly. It may embarrass them. If you want to bring light to a need close to your heart, share the information from a soup kitchen or shelter you spend time volunteering with. Invite people to come with you and help. Don't film these folks, especially without their consent, just to exploit their situation and make you look good. That's hurtful. Kindness and dignity for all! Take care, folks. :)

A little kindness goes a long way to make a good day for someone. That kindness does everyone good, the giver and the receiver.

When you need a video like this, but are in such a jaded state you pause it immediately, because you have lost all faith mankind is worthy of anything. I would say giving a better life for pets, but we are destroying the world too... mankind is as unworthy as, and more destructive than, anything. Prove me wrong.
