Suggestion for mod tweak (already brilliant): as you finish the race, your car changes into whichever previous vehicle you set your slowest lap in. Then everyone can laugh at what their rivals hauled around the track.

this seems like great fun... maybe to make it more fair, each person gets to pick 1 car, so if there's 15 players, there's 15 cars, 15 laps... and the order you get what car in is randomized

This was really fun to watch! I'd like to see more like this. Have you considered putting all the different vehicles in weighted tiers, so if you're in first you're more likely to get a slow vehicle, and in last you're more likely to get something fast?

Should have half the group go one way, and half the other. Maybe add some funny cars like ramp trucks or something, maybe do teams, and have a team captain with a ramp truck. Idk how the team point system/challenge would work, like first team to all cross the line after 10 laps or something? But it could be brutal fun!

One auggestion for Amy: You may want to consider keeping an "average" rating for each player, so that if they have had too many good cars then they are weighted down to the other end to balance it out.

You need more laps and when the leader of the race pulls over and types 'what lap we on' all racers must pull over and type lap 2/19 or 7/31 ~~~~ the leader has a minima time to respond 'what lap we on'. Or have to do a lap in reverse leaving second place into first to type 'what lap we on'. Maybe an actual car choice or not..... Maybe a truck with defining features....
