Random Card Challenge | Pokémon Platinum | Episode One

Alright, having travelled through Kanto, Johto and Hoenn, we've moved onto Sinnoh for our fourth Random Card Challenge. In this series, we draw cards to decide what team of Pokémon we'll be using for every major battle. We then match levels and without the use of items, attempt to take down all of the region's gym leaders, rivals and evil team commanders. Thank you so much for watching!

I have a new idea for a Pokémon random challenge, I call it the Random Title Screen Challenge: Play through Pokémon Red/Blue and for every major battle, take the Pokémon which appear on the title screen next to the Trainer after Charmander/Squirtle.

I shall also chip in and say that I was here back when this video was miss-titled as 'Random Card Challenge | Pokémon Emerald | Episode One.' I've got to say though, I'm surprised to see the follow up to this series so soon. I figured it would be a lot longer but it seems like you pump out a playthrough of a Pokémon game every week. 1:17 - Good to see that your collection of cards has expanded since starting this series. I recall you only collecting them back in the day so I didn't think you would have any Gen 4 cards but nope, I see them. 2:21 - You got me good there; you had me all hyped up to see Barry's Piplup pull a surprising development on us. Then later it turns out he did. Who would have thought that Barry's Growl strategy would pay off? He's the genius we never expected. 3:47 - That Pikachu animation is great; never use one in Platinum so this is a first to seeing it. An gosh, your Pikachu one-shots that Starly with ease. My recent Diamond playthrough involved me using a Pichu at this point, whom couldn't one-shot a Starly, so it was a surprise to see Pikachu accomplish it even if I should have expected it. 6:17 - You sure have an eloquent way to convey your anger, to which your team the utilises as their fuel to run on. You got really unlucky with that first run but the excess anger that must have generation should help your team out next go (not that I would be able to tell if you got angry given your calming voice). 8:04 - I have never seen him not start with Stealth Rock. Gosh, your playthrough is just full of surprises. Another fantastic start to another fantastic playthrough of yours with unbelievable amounts of effort and patience put into it. I'm sure I will delight in another well worded venture of yours through a Pokémon game as you continue to overcome seemingly hopeless odds.

But I will just chalk that up to F.J.'s amazing nicknaming skills. xD 5:25 Voltorb doesn't look particularly angry here in Platinum, more slightly annoyed. The two Fights against Roark showed of nicely how much luck _can_ play into Pokémon Battles.

If you are going to do these random card challenges, the least you could do is have Pokemon from the current gen in your cards... I saw one, in your initial card showing, and this was similar for the Emerald Randomizer too, which lacked gen 3 pokemon
