Random Card Challenge | Pokémon Platinum | Episode Three

After a forced break, the Platinum Random Card Challenge is back! We're adding the final group of cards and taking on Fantina so let's see how we fare. My mic was really starting to mess up the audio so I've bought a new one ahead of the next episode. I tried my best to clean it up but it's not the best. I really like these series, a cool addition would be a little box somewhere on the screen that said how many attempts this battle took because I find myself usually wondering just that. Feels like that wouldn't be too much of a pain during editing, but then I'm not an editor so I have no clue

Thanks. I was too lazy to check and my morse was not good enough without help. Only knew the O because of SOS and identified the number, but my thoughts were 101 as in a class and 151 as in the original 151 Pokémon. FJ is really clever putting in those small bits for people to comment on. :D

As is always the case, the CPU's Hypnosis always seem to have infinitely better accuracy. It's rather amusing how much of Fantina's battle was spent sleeping. Another fantastically entertaining video as per usual, though I had forgotten about the Platinum Gym Order change and so started to get worried that I had missed an episode at first. Aside from the uniquely challenging first match, you seemed rather bless with card draws this episode. Here I am fretting about how I'll deal with Maylene with a Hoothoot, Pikachu and Shellos whilst you're going about with a Legendary (and for the most part, you didn't even need it; Daly was doing plenty well enough). The highlight of the episode is most likely the Tail Whip joke (5:52) but I was also a big fan of your Pokétch title joke spotted at (6:52). I'll have to keen a keen eye on that Pokétch up there in future.

I feel that HOothoot is likely to put in work. IF I recall, that pokemon learns some psychic type moves. In addition, it is, itself, flying type.

@@StarshadowMelody True, and having looked at the stats of of Maylene's 3 Pokémon, I'm surprised to see just how slow Machoke is. Lucario also has less special defence than I expected, not that Hoothoot would be able to do much due to the Steel typing. If I have Hoothoot match up with Maylene's Lucario (Level 30), then the Hoothoot will have Air Slash which will help out a ton. Thanks for the comment and reassurance, Lost Melody!

Against Haunter you could have picked non-damaging moves, even while asleep, with Slakoth to evade Sucker Punch. Just something to keep in mind for any Pokémon play through going forward!

Love the videos. Silly and lovely idea you had for this series. Might I make a suggestion about your layout? You have a large empty space in the bottom right corner. Maybe consider placing the cards you're currently using in that corner every time you make a new team? Even just a still image, it would make it a bit easier to follow along I think.
