He almost certainly has a clause in his contract with Blizzard that would disallow him from playing that character in unrelated media. So they're basically trying to get him sued.

Now if he went in full-cosplay and went around constantly quoting McCree they might have a case there, but if may just said "It's HIIIIGH NOOON" here Blizzard would basically have to prove to a court that McCree's entire character is based around that one voice-line. Hell, Matt even straight-up cosplays (pretty well might I add) McCree in an episode so it's less likely anything to do with a clause and more likely he gets tired of the meme and having to say it all the time and didn't wanna feed it more.

@@jeremycampbell4021 While you are correct and Blizzard is usually rather chill with stuff like that in general, I would also point out that CR makes it a habit to shut-down any attempt (e.g. during live Q&A) to get them to say any lines from anything they voiced. So no "hey xxx, can you do that line from yyy?" And I think they specifically stated that this is mostly for legal reasons

Jesus Liam does a bang on Gollum impression. Like, no lie, this guy constantly amazes me with how much of a straight up professional voice actor he is from a pure technical stand point. He's the best at the table I think. Don't get me wrong, the others, especially Matt, are all fantastic at their craft, but Liam has a level of pure technician about it that always blows me away. His accents are always tremendous, and his ability to alter his voice and speech patterns are every bit as good or better than Matt.

That would be campaign one, with Vox Machina! It’s quite a good one, but the beginning can be a bit rough, content and quality-wise. If you want something more complete, I’d suggest campaign 2, or even jumping in with their current campaign, #3. People have explained the pros and cons of each campaign better than I, but the choice is up to you!
