I'm out Friday afternoon in Newcastle and meeting in Five Swans. Didn't know anything about Luthers bar so you've brought that to my attention! Gonna give it a try thanks! ..btw you missed the most central Wetherspoons in Newcastle, The Milecastle!

I was there a couple of weeks ago, didn't realise Luthers is open to non students. The Tilley Stone in Gateshead is a fairly short walk over the swing bridge from Quayside, just round the corner from the Metro / Bus station, similar prices to the Byker one. The Spoons phone app is great for locating them, it also tells you what guest ales are on.
