The way I am actually so excited that you dnf'd a book. Like girl read it if you love it and otherwise it's not a good use of your time. If I don't want to pick something back up, it's a dnf, so I'm a big proponent of that one. But anyway, congrats on 30K. I've been around for most of a year now and it's been so great to see you grow! Also Project Hail Mary is my favorite full on scifi novel and I'n so sad you read it before this channel because I wanted your reactions haha. But I agree it's phenomenal

Hey Ellen! I read Sword of Kaigen last year and really enjoyed it. It was my first epic fantasy. The author recently had her other book, Blood Over Bright Haven (dark academia/fantasy) traditionally published. I have the indie version but haven't read it yet but it's supposed to be amazing. 4.54 on Storygraph. Thanks for the early vid as well!! 🥰

@@squidwardtentacles7144 I think so, just be aware that it is not cozy. Politics, martial arts and grief are the main themes but also very captivating in its own way. It's a chunker as well. I don't read a lot of epic fantasy so I don't have a lot to compare to. Hope this helps!
