Happy Place made me irrationally mad LOL the trope is also one of my least favorites. Their friends also pissed me off to no end - the medddddelllllllinnnnnnnng. Funny Story was a lot better so at least there is that!

@@kirstenmichelle to be fair it has built up over many years since I was like 15, I want to get more into horror though do you have any top top recommendations for someone new to genre?
@kirstenmichelle3 ай бұрын
@@tonimasson2620 I guess it depends on what you like, but my current favorite horror is Into The Drowning Deep by Mira Grant! It’s about killer mermaids 👻

this vlog is amazing, most books in it I either read or want to read. Happy PlaceI agree isn't great, I listened to end of last year and I hated it - I did learn a few life lessons from Harriet, but it felt far too heavy after Book Lovers, I didn't vibe with it. I do want to listen to Funny Story in the next month or so, but I'm a roll with a ton of different reads and listens right now Yu might like the book I'm reading, it's called Buddy Reads by Dhara Shah and it is like an alternate Beasty and the Beast romance. Smutty, but I'm liking it. I do want to read Dial A and the Vera Wong series in the Fall, those sound really fun!

@kirstenmichelle I read the Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes last fall and it was really good too! One of my favorite reads of 2023. Reading Snow slowly spiral into who he becomes was so fascinating and there's a LOT of parallels to the original series that makes it really satisfying to read!
