Hey Jake! I think everyone feels that way from time to time. To get over the feeling of going through the motions remember to count your blessings. There are many people out there that wish they had as relaxing a schedule as you do. God has blessed you with a peaceful life and instead of appreciating it we tend to think about what we don't have instead of what we do. I have had to come to this conclusion myself as my life can be pretty boring as well but it could be even worse if I had a lot of things I was forced to do like have an overtaxing profession or a job that I hate, I could be behind in rent and wondering where the next meal was coming from, or heaven forbid homeless people who don't even have shelter. I'm not saying that you should feel bad for these people but that we should remember to thank God for all the blessings even those that seem to be contrary to human ideals. You could hang out with friends more or go somewhere in your local neighborhood that you've never been to. You'd be surprised at what simply changing up your routine in a small way would do for you. Not sure why you scrapped your first book if you like it so much. I would say start with that one and then write the second one. Nothing stopping you from writing both. Well hope all is going well, talk to ya later and God Bless.
