It's held in a jig that centers the piece from the OD of the sprocet tooth. It's a flame cut part so centering accuracy is not that great.. But the bore has to be +-0,01mm!

OK so you centered in the JIG from the OD with pins? I will guess that you bought a cnc lathe with live tooling & dual spindle.

Why was your lathe bogging so much? Never heard it struggle on a cut like that before. Sorry if showed that it was a hard material and I missed it.

It has more to do with the VFD drive than anything else. Perhaps a vector drive and some programming may help in this case.

Yep! That's why I'm a fan of mechanical speed reduction and not electrical. I believe that lathe has a ton of gears though, so I guess he was just being lazy?

Spot on :-)! A VFD plus a lazy operator equals a bogging spindle motor.

1M63 lathe porn! My dream machine, along with new version of 1I611P, since Schaublins are flimsy and/or way too expensive over here in Switzerland.

I actually think the old version is a bit better because it has twin prismatic bedways for the carriage. The new has a flat on the back side. As far as i know they are identical in any way except for the way design and more modern looks. My 1M63 however, is a cheaper version, because the better ones also have twin prism ways and mine only has one. Still does a good job though :-).

can i get in the conversation?my dream was Schaublin 150 or 125,but here in Bulgaria,there is only one for over 10000euros,so i bought russian 16B05A high precision small lathe with double prism ways for 800 euros and let me tell you its very hard for scraping and alingning it because of these v ways.now there is IJ 1I611P exactly like sunpaas and im wondering of buying it,and now i understand its also with double v ways.

Only some operations need flood coolant, many do not.
