After posting this video, I realized that there are 12 inches per foot, rather than 10, so 4.5 feet is 137.16 cm, not 114.3 cm. 🤦

The manufacture of those coiled cords is interesting to watch. They start out twisted on a mandrel and heated, and then afterwards they turn it inside out. Also, I like your whiteboard rendition of the headphones. 🎧

I've replaced the cable on my MDR-7506 headphones, which I think are more or less identical to the MDR-V6. Pretty much exactly the same process, but there's a bit more room to work since the earcups are larger.
