It’s so weird how Nintendo acts all family friendly and PG but then there’s literally hentei all over the place in the eshop. I can say if I was a little kid and saw those anime toddies, I would probably go a little bit crazy. Also the app itself runs like I’m on 2001 dial up internet so. Idk what the heck is going on in those board meetings haha

Give us a way to filter out the trash, improve the UI, add a cheery tune while browsing, Put the games into groups so it doesn't lag the system so it feels like your on 1998 Dial up, and let people post reviews for items they have purchased. Simple fixes that would improve the shop. I honestly can't stand going on the eshop because its full of so much trash and to find the good stuff it takes forever because it feels like the switch is going to crash while scrolling down through all the trash they allow people to release. There is 0 quality control, and I'd almost say it's on par with steam with the amount of shovelware/asset flip trash they allow people to release. Nintendo really needs to make some improvements for their next consoles marketplace.

Speaking of crashing the switch eshop, I've done it... Multiple times... I do have to agree though. The Wii U eshop was so nicely organized, and I hope the next gen console's shop is more like it.

I can’t disagree. It was when the 3DS and WiiU came along, that it started to go downhill, but at least they had soul. And yes, they’re still cool. But, the Switch definitely did not learn anything new. I cannot say anymore, because we all know what’s happened. (Sigh) It really would have been nice to have an overview of what could be, then we could make improvements where possible. 😔 Rest in Peace, my old friends…

I think I might have missed you improv moment this time, but I still loved watching this video, especially your "Play the music!" gag! The more I watch videos like these, the more I wish people knew about GameFly, or renting in general. A lot of the more popular eShop games have physical versions available for rental, and you wouldn't even be paying anything extra. Maybe the next system will allow online rentals?

There were a few improvs in this one, but a lot of them were more subtle this time around haha. And honestly other than demos, I don’t think Nintendo would do anything like that. I do hope so though!

Also I originally was going to explain all the features for each category, but it felt long and redundant. Sometimes the eshop doesn't even load on my switch. Thats how bad it gets And once and only once i believe, it crashed. The _eshop_ crashed. Totally insane

The fact i can pay for a mobile game on the eshop when i can buy it for free on mobile is ridiculesl. And they aren’t even good mobile games. I would be happy to pay for a game like angry birds on the switch because it’s actually good (and they are discontinued) witch js why I brought the angry birds trilogy on 3ds. Also funny to note is that the eshop is the only place where i can find my friend peppa pig right next to a henti game. I have never brought any game similar to a hanti game!

I didn't buy anything at all on the 3DS E-Shop, but still, I loved to watch all the trailers and demos from time to time. It was just a fun experience. Btw, I know it may be an exception, but the Wii U E-Shop also had a couple of terrible releases in there. Remember The Letter? That's actually the only example I can think of while navigating in the E-Shop back in the day. Now? Well, just like you said, it's pretty easy to find low quality games on the E-Shop. I think that won't go away in the next iteration of the E-Shop, but hopefully it does get better performance wise... hopefully.

well. imagen. even kick gives you the option to disable "octopuss games" so you dont get them reccomended or on the front page anymore. well... lovely nintendo cannot do it for some reason

I remember when one of my friends FLIPPED OUT when she found out that there was no virtual console! This was on the launch day for the Nintendo Switch. My friend only got over it when Nintendo Switch online NES was released.

This video was probably only suggested to me because of the Super Paper Mario music. I’ve stopped playing the Switch ever since I’ve unearthed my childhood Wii with tons of pre downloaded virtual console games alongside a sizeable library of first part Wii and Gamecube games. Sometimes I think about playing something made in this decade and booting up the Switch but I had no idea the eShop was this bad.

great video!! another thing thats annoying is that you have to type in the password everytime you go to the EShop. Its frustrating especially if you have a long password. The ,,keyboard'' is kinda clunky too.

Not just the eshop but consoles as a whole don’t have any more charm. They all just have the same ol’ stuff ya expect a game system to have but without the charm at all. Even the Wii U had SOME charm! (Also I remember the DSI eshop too. So many memories.)

There not showing anything that bad in those Octopus games in the thumbnails or screen shots though. Its nothing worse than you see on a magazine or manga cover in a shop. They should have the tag feature to hide things though even steam does that where it only shows the safe screen shots unless you go onto the games store page or have the option turned on to not show the safe ones. Really though we need a Genre Tag System like Steam uses that even users can help with.

3ds was peak portable for nintendo. The switch sucks ass. No themes. Shit eshop. No party chat. In the beginning, bluetooth headsets didnt even work. Stick drift. The og switch was built better, it had a sort of metalic shell. It was cold to the touch. The oled model is complete trash.. all plastic. I dont even use my switch. I use a hacked 3ds. No other portable console is better. 3ds and ds games are goated.
