Well Laharl's dad wasn't evil, Mao's dad wasn't evil, and there have been a few other strong demons that weren't evil or at least not villain class evil. I think the reason stronger demons tend to be more violent or even evil is because they are the ones that fight alot and they grow stronger from all their fighting. Naturally strong demons like Laharl who are pretty much born strong tend to be less violent and more mischievous.

It's either that or the 'Strong' demons are only recognized as such because they're always in the limelight. Chances are high that, most of the protags' fathers were stronger than most but never put it on display seriously. Like role models.

I already had an excuse to buy a Vita when Persona 4 Golden came out, and Disgaea 3 makes a great addition to it.

But both of them changed their minds when they actually went to the demon world and saw demons for themselves. They had never actually met demons before so you can't blame them. Aurum had known demons for ages. Certainly long enough to know what they were like especially when he raised Mao for 200 years. Yet despite all that he didn't care. He didn't care if not all demons were the same, he didn't care if one was just running a school and nor hurting anyone, he just wanted to fight to the death.

Because they tend to port their games onto the handheld consoles after the sequels comes out. Disgaea 1 PSP came out after Disgaea 2 PS2; Disgaea 2 PSP came out after Disgaea 3 PS3; Disgaea 3 PS Vita came out after Disgaea 4 PS3. So we have to wait until after the release of Disgaea 5 to see if they will make Disgaea 4 for the handheld consoles.

Both Almaz and Sapphire gave up trying to kill the overlord before they even knew he was dead so the fact that Aurum had already killed him doesn't matter. and I'm not blaming him for winning the death match I'm blaming him for making a death match in the first place. He had to have known not all demons were bad but he still hunted down and killed demons who weren't even doing anything. Even if he said demons were meant to be evil he was just saying that because it made things convenient.

I wouldn't say "changed their minds" because Aurum pretty much killed Mao's dad. If Mao's dad was still alive, both Almaz and Sapphire would've charge straight at him from the beginning, even if we know they get killed by Mao's dad. It's not like they decide to drop their goal, they lost their goal from the start. Yes, Aurum wants to fight to the death, he challenged Mao's dad who is powerful enough to kill him, but Aurum wins at the end and you can't blame him for winning a Death Match.

Those were villains of the Disgaea series. Of course they are going to be bad and of course they are going to be strong. I just meant being a "Greater Disgaea demon" didn't mean one was more likely to be truely evil. They tend to be more violent and do whatever they want more but plenty of demons that were called Great weren't really evil. The three you mentioned were high level villains. On a side note to me it felt like Real Zenon wasn't really evil but had simply lost all faith in others.

That's just the stereotype. Both of the Dean's were just running a school so I doubt they have any real interest in fighting heroes. In fact pretty much everytime a hero shows up in Disgaea it seems like most would rather ignore them. Besides the issue isn't how willing the Deans were or weren't to accept Aurum's challange the issue is he still hunted down and killed them when they clearly weren't doing anything and orphaned 2 kids. Then he raised Mao just to kill him almost like Mao was cattle.

the only things i don't like about the vita campaigns are the changes to some of the voices (champloo's in particular), and how horribly simple it is to get a trapezohedron. you can get around 4 if you do the vita only campaigns. what's the point of having a super powerful ultimate item if they give it out like candy at a state fair?

Two points of interest: 1- Rutile is a good person but a very boring character. Up until the point where it turned out she was a traitor, every sign pointed to a Mary Sue. 2- Judging from her strategy, Stella is one of the greatest intellects of the Disagea universe. I've rarely seen a strategy this sophisticated by any Disagea character. I'd say, based on what I've seen, the order is: 1- Etna (had an effective gambit going for years and outsmarted a foe who held all the cards. Even in Etna Mode, she only loses to bad luck) 2- The Seraph/Krichevskoy (we never see these two act except as a team, so it's hard to tell which is better. The Seraph clearly does some very bonehead things, such as with Sicily in Disagea D2, but is generally on top of his game. Krichevskoy is a brilliant actor, so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and assume he's on the Seraph's level) 3- Stella, for actually using real world tactics and strategy and striking the weakest point. Frankly, this bit should be considered a CMOA by Disagea standards. Stella screws up later, but she thinks the Dean is still alive which means she has a card left to play. Fenrich would get Stella's spot, but Feinrich repeatedly fails in manipulating a person he has known for four hundred years.

From what I've seen, Fenrich only ever fails in getting Valvatorez to drink human blood, and that's because he's drank the stuff for a very long time. He knows its smell well. Every other thing he plans with Val in mind usually goes without a hitch. (Setting up the path for usurping the regime, getting Val to promise to stop Artina if she interferes and then getting her to do exactly that, etc) I think Fenrich should take that third spot

I'm surprised they never pieced it together than Krichevskoy was Vyres. They have an identical face, hair color and skin color with near similar hairstyles. Funny enough, its also using letters from his original name. As for Fenrich, even if he had succeeded to fooling Valvatorez, Valv would find some way to turn whatever he had planned on its head. But he does manipulate everyone else pretty well.

I really doubt he gave them much of a choice. I mean a Legendary Super Hero has come all the way to kill you. Do you honestly think saying "No thanks I have a child and school to take care of" would work? Plus even if he "Challanges them" he is still busting into their homes and killing them for no good reason other than they are Overlords. Plus what he did to Mao alone is enough to make him a prick. Killing Majin girl's dad just reinforces it and makes the normal ending all the sweeter.

Well some demons are very blood thirsty like most of the bosses for example. "Zenon" from disgaea 2 committed genocide among other crimes. But the typical disgaea demon seems to be just lazy and mischevious. basically anything that would make you a rotten human being makes them proper demons. But that doesn't mean they lack any sense of morals. Even in Disagaea 1 Laharl will happily steal from people but what happened to Flonne fills him with murderous rage.

Like I said them accepting the challange was never the issue I was getting at. The issue was that he is just going around killing deans who aren't even leaving their schools much less harming anyone. Apparently Mao's dad spread bad rumors about himself to keep hero's away (which makes no sense how does making yourself sound more evil help?) so you can almost justify that but the Majin dean is different. Plus like I said what he did to Mao is enough to make him a prick without killing the Deans.

Not sure you know this but... Disgaea exploits stereotypes. Most especially Disgaea 3 with the concepts of Heroes and Evil. Both Deans were heads of EVIL SCHOOLS. They won't refuse a challenge from a Hero. Especially Mao's dad who is an Overlord and is actually strong enough to kill Aurum but he got killed when he hesitated. Mao's dad didn't think he would lose at all from the start. Unlike the other living heroes, Aurum is actually competent in battle from the moment of his first appearance.

Try leveling up your gear/getting the best or close to best, that where it really is at. Also you may have the stronger enemy bills up. Try lowering them down.

Yeah, what he did to Mao was a douchebag thing to do, but that's pretty much it. Aurum doesn't kill Deans, he kills Powerful Demons, most especially Overlords. He just crave more and more powerful evil demons to fight, though he's crave for challenge sort of blindsided him to the point he kills powerful demons, regardless if good or bad. Both Almaz and Sapphire went to Evil Academy to kill Mao's dad, do you think they are pricks for that?

Disgaea 2 DHD had every game mechanic in Disgaea 3 except the class world,serums and duping, plus Magichange 2 and obviously the exclusives to Disgaea 2, like felonies and such. Disgaea 2 DHD also had better dlc characters if you got the Japanese version. Disgaea 2 DHD also had the entire main cast of Disgaea 3 as opposed to Disgaea 3 Vita just having Fuka and Desco(some of the worst characters in Disgaea 4).
