Yep, since I get my G502, I get why many people like this (or liked it until the lightweight gaming mice trend emerged). The problem I have with light weight mice, its just all about lightness anymore but they are basically just a normal mice. For most I guess that's fine, but I felt like I need a mice that allows me to actually do more since I don't use my PC only for gaming, I even do it for productivity and since pandemic, use for WFH use as well. G502 despite marketed as a gaming mice, is actually for me one of the best productivity mice out there, better than to even likes of well-regarded MX Master Mouse from the same company. The extra buttons are great for quick macro/shortcut functionality for different apps I used and for gaming as well, not needing to reach that certain function on the keyboard that is too far to reach with the fingers. I don't want to develop RSI in the long term, the buttons actually benefits ergonomics for me and makes me feel more efficient. I'm kinda disappointed that most mice and keyboards are indeed moved away from extra macro and dedicated keys for years. Felt like I'm paying more for less and very few options that offer one that now they became expensive because they became more niche.

@kornkernel22322 жыл бұрын
@@Aturixios Yeah for MMOs, those mice like Naga or even Logitech own G604 are better suited. I actually want to get those since those extra buttons would be sweet for productivity, but I'll wait for update of G604 assuming Logitech hasn't forgotten about it due to light mice trend we have these days. I want to have G604 but some RGB so I can assign it as profile indicator, and maybe same feel with G502. Idk how G604 feels though.

For me it's been the most durable, reliable mouse I've ever owned. I've had mine for 7 1/2 years now and even through very, VERRRYYY heavy usage it is still going supremely strong. Not once has the infamous "double click" issue ever reared its ugly head. Not once have I ever had tracking issues with it. Not once has its mouse wheel ever given me any issues. Really the only problem I've had is that over time, the rubber grip along the side has worn down significantly. I think the key here is the battery perfomance, Logitech page says "about 120 hours with RGB turned off" and "37 hours with RGB turned on" for the plus model and I think that's a massive difference, I'd be nice if you can test that battery time RGB vs no RGB, if the gap is that big then I don't think buying the RGB version is worth at all, but if the difference in lasting time is small, like 100 hours no RGB vs 80 hours RGB (to say something) then I think the plus version would the nice one to buy.

@chink exterminator Some really prefer the G502 over other mice, even with the added price of the Powerplay mat. For me it's the shape, the button placement, the infinite scroll wheel when I need it. You can also wait for the price of the G502 X Lightspeed or Plus to drop if you're not in a hurry. Though personally, I might not get Powerplay considering the 140 hour battery life.

After having my G903 for over five yrs. it's finally starting to consistently double-click on me. I use the infinity scroll 90% of the time in my games and daily browsing so I can't part with it. I'll do with the extra weight, it really doesn't bother me. So this may be a worthy upgrade.

Definitely love that they've updated it and not just a facelift either. I do agree, the central plastic shroud takes away from its iconic design. Now would I spend the extra $20 on RGB, my heart wants to say yes, but the real answer is no. Would definitely choose the X (in black though). To answer an unasked question, would I upgrade from my existing 502 to the new one, hell no, not unless I run into real issues.

Frank! Hope you see this comment as it's a response to your question at the end. This video is the first I've heard of this mouse, and it actually caused me to look up some other reviews for the mouse. I've been using a Logitech G900 for 3-4+ years now, which replaced my G502 Proteus Core. When the G502 Lightspeed came out, I went to Best Buy and bought one. I love the shape of the G502, did not like the Logitech G Hub software, and the increased weight over the G900, so I returned it, not to mention the $149.99 price. I was able to get my G900 for practically free, so despite my preference for the shape, I could not pay that much for a mouse. The 502 X Plus is incredibly attractive to me, with a lighter body than my G900 (106g vs 107g, plus PTFE feet) but with heavier, tighter right and left click switches, as well as tightened up scroll wheel. There has always been tons of side to side slop in my scroll wheel, both on my G502 and my G900, so this is a very welcome change to me. Not sure how I feel about the new sniper button with the flap. However, due the price difference between the X Plus and X Lightspeed, I will not be buying the X Plus for months into its lifecycle, or until I see a sale price below $120, especially when the original G502 Proteus Core I fell in love with launched at a far more reasonable $50. I find this artificial price segmenting incredibly distasteful, and affront to the most loyal consumers of the brand, who will be buying their products directly at launch. I have a Logitech G810 keyboard, and if it were ever to become irreparable, it's doubtful my new keyboard would be a Logitech one.

I'm glad to hear they've gone with new switches in the mouse buttons, I've been using the G502 ever since I can remember and I've gone through a few due to the switches in the right mouse button constantly failing after about 6-10 months of use (I treat my hardware like it's my most treasured item, not rough with it) so gaming with it has been a battle when it decides to kark out and un-ads my weapon or go all jittery with it when I try to scope in. This sounds like it'll be the perfect upgrade to look forward to so I can't wait ! So glad they didn't change the ergonomics of it too much because it is literally the perfect fit for my hands.

@CallmeRoth7 ай бұрын
I think it's pretty clear why there are 3 versions and you explained it - Wired, Wireless and NO-RGB/RGB versions. There are people who will pay for RGB because they'd rather look at their computer than use it and then use their phone to "flex" in reddit setup threads. Logitech knows this and has capitalized on the financial opportunity.

Sadly, it is a current trend now, so the heavier gaming mice will be a niche and expensive thing to have these days. I've been a fan of the G502 for a while now, and I'm excited to see Logitech continuing to refine and update this classic mouse. The new hybrid optical switches sound intriguing, and I'm definitely looking forward to trying them out for that unique tactile feel. Regarding the different versions, I'm a bit puzzled too. I appreciate having options, but the price and feature differences between the X and X Plus are somewhat perplexing. Personally, I lean towards performance and functionality, so I might opt for the lighter and cheaper version without RGB, but I'd love to hear what others think about this pricing strategy. Looking forward to your in-depth review and more gameplay experiences with the G502 Lightspeed! Keep up the great work, and as always, I'll be following your updates on Twitter. Cheers! 🎮🐭

I've tried to use canned air and sometimes it starts to work fine but give it a couple weeks and back to where I left off. As far as weight is concerned, personally I add 1 or 2 of the additional weights in my mice.
