This book is for me a masterpiece. I never felt so much emotions since longtime reading a book, and I read a lot. I can say that it is the most intense book I read in the last years, and sometimes it reminds me Virginia Woolf, even Paul Scott, even Tolstoy. With time we will see how talented is this writer, how she wrote, with this book, something different, and strong and hard like life itself. A book about the human condition and the sufferance of it, about love, about death. It is marvelous.

KA has not written a word I have not enjoyed. Long may she continue to write books. I look forward to each new one and love re-reading, listening to the audiobooks again and again.

If you don't that who Kate Atkinson is, that's a real shame, because she's a fantastic writer! I've been a massive fan of her writing since I was 14, when I read her first novel Behind the Scenes at the Museum. She's inspired by the classics, and she's amazingly well read herself. Thank you for this interview!

Could somebody please help me understand what she said between "because" and "the heroine"? "It has quite a high-concept structure because [...] the heroine dies and comes back to life."

She says 'Ursula Todd', the name of the heroine.

I didn't like this book so much. It has incredibly loose themes, it's hard to keep track of a lot of the characters, and the overall structure was confusing to my brain. There were certainly some good parts that I enjoyed, but as a whole I found myself disliking this novel and ended up very disappointed. Just my two cents for any potential buyers.

Drivel after drivel; banality after banality - v appropriate for this pretentious, incoherent stream of nonsense.
