Oxide Room 104 is an absolute hidden gem. It's half escape room half first person horror. It's REALLY underrated.

DEFINITELY make this a three-part series! I loved hearing you talk about all these horror games and why you like or dislike them. I liked hearing Scott chime in with what he thought about some of the games as well. I’ve only played about five of the games on this list and I would agree- Resident Evil 4 is S tier. Little nightmares I would drop down to a B and I would raise bramble the mountain king up to an A. (As dark as that game is it’s also absolutely charming as well And not a lot of games can do both!)

Scott was able to add a little bit more insight in the next video as well as there was a few games he had played from that group. I could certainly see an argument for raising Bramble The Mountain King to an A and Little Nightmares to a B. I'm betting I could do this ranking video 1000 times and it would never be the same each time.

Condemned Criminal Origins probably would have been S tier in it's time for sure. It's so hard when I've played so many horror games that it's caused me to be super objective and while it's amazing it just doesn't stand up to the S tier games, especially knowing what's coming for the rest.

See if I was making a metroidvania list it would be a no brainer. You're absolutely right though. Castlevania Symphony of the Night is absolutely amazing. It's a top 10 game for me of all the games I've ever played!

Parts two and three! We demand it!!!! I’ll say this, RE5 is a great game, it’s just not a great RE game imo. And as far as TLoU2, I still think that series is overrated but 2 wasn’t wise than the original. I do think it should have ended at the farm house though.

I'll definitely agree that the story in The Last of us was better than part 2 and it was a lot of shock Factor in the second one. I think ending at the farmhouse would have been a smart idea as well and save the content with Abby at the end for the next game.... If and when we ever get one.

Great video but it’s also a tease! I kind of wanted to see all of them ranked !!!! So that means more , more , more !!!! Haha Although getting footage for them must take a while as well! Like I was telling you, there are so many horror games I never heard of till you mention them ! Luckily most of them are 1st person so I’m good on missing out on them. Little nightmares for me is S tier , I’ll never forget the first time I played that and how the story unwinds , for me part 2 is tier s as well. I know you said you don’t go back to play dlc stuff later and normally I don’t but you owe it to yourself to play the ada wong re4 dlc. I replayed all of part 4 a few months ago so I could remember what’s happening and played the dlc right after and it was so much fun and it feels different too as she has different weapons and can kind of spider web her way around lol, trust me you will dig it ! If making a video is too long for a rest , a life stream of you ranking it with the community watching would be awesome too! I know i would be there !

It's been on my mind for some time. I heard it's a few hours for sure so it'll feel like playing a small game and I would love to go back to that world even if it's just for a few hours. Great video, I agree on both S Tier game's, they definitely belong their. Some of these game's I've heard of, and some I haven't. I don't have an X Box, so I don't know those game's, the Evil Within is a good game, but I can't rate this one, because I haven't finished it yet, I haven't begun to play part 2 yet, after I finish Spider-Man 2, which I haven't played in 3 weeks, cause I needed a break, but I need to go back and try and finish the Evil Within.

@@EvilMyers If you like Evil within, you'll love the second one. It's a little bit more open world and the tension is a little bit higher. They added in a few more things as well that I thought really enhanced the game. As much as I loved the first one, the second one is even better.

This was a good set of games to rank! I agree with the RE4 S tier, it really is one of the most fun and accessible games every made. And I also have yet to play Obscure the Aftermath... one day I shall. Also, I've been working through SH2, felt really addicted to it for the first multiple hours and stages, and now at the stage before the last... I'm losing interest so hard in this version. I don't know why, I think its due to the enemies feeling inescapable when I'm trying to do a no kill run. 😢

Glad to see you had many indie games on here since they are often overlooked. Bendy, Little Nightmares, and Bramble are all good! However, Those Who Remain... not good lol Personally I would place The Evil Within at least in the A rank, possibly S. It's far better than Resident Evil 5! I am going with 102 horror games in the bucket like the dalmatians but the spots are blood splatter. I think Scott is trying to sabotage with all his digging in the bucket. Little nightmares is great. Bioshock is a great series. I need to replay RE4. I have RE2 ranked higher than 4. Oxide was cool but the gun was so underpowered. It was a very short game. Great series. I am expecting the rest

For the ones I've played, my list looks very different in places. S - Last of Us 2, Bioshock A - Evil Within, Little Nightmares B - The Devil in Me, Bendy and the Ink Machine, Resident Evil 4 C - Tormented Souls D - Resident Evil 5 Last of Us 2 was very polarizing. I honestly thing they should have started the game with us playing as Abby, not knowing her significance to Ellie. This would have allowed players the change to connect with her and see things from her perspective with an open mind before having the events dropped on us. Even without this change though, this is my favorite game. Never liked the live action RE games, so 4 is low and 5 is really low because I hated the style change of the game. (5 is my least favorite in the series, with 7 and 2 being my top picks.) Finally, thank you for bringing up Those Who Remain. I remember seeing early trailers for it, but then forgot the title and didn't hear anything else on it. Now I can finally rediscover the hidden gem that almost got away.

All the games on my list I've played within the last 5 years, so I wonder if some of those older titles, especially Bioshock would have hit me differently when they released. Definitely loved Bioshock but it just fell short of S tier personally. I completely agree with you on The Last of Us 2, as much as I love the game, it would have made so much more sense to introduce Abby in a way that we could have appreciated her story from the beginning.

@@RetroRivals Thank you. So Resident Evil 4 is your fav Resident Evil game then? Are you going to mention 1-3 in another vid along with Code Veronica? Lets not forget Dino Crisis. Here's the thing with me being in my 20's when Resident Evil 4 came out in 2005 on Game Cube then PS2. I wasn't so analytical picky or anything of that sort. I had way less knowledge of games as this was still the start of the internet era. I loved this game when it 1st came out. Played this & beat this 5 times getting every weapon playing on the hardest difficulty setting & at that time I didn't even like the 1st 3 games anymore when this came out. This was the best game ever. Then I am in my 40's with a lot more knowledge & things that I didn't notice in games I really notice them now & they bother me a lot to the point where it isn't fun. Like Resident Evil 4 Then length of the game really bothers me now & especially the puzzles because they aren't so easy to solve. While there are puzzles in 1-3 the gameplay is a lot shorter. The style & the camera angle are different too. I like the camera angles a lot better 1-3 because you see a lot around you.

I think it's the perfect marriage of re4 and re7.

This was a fun video. I agree Last of Us Part 2 is S tier, but I will say a second playthrough does not have the same impact as the first because you know everything. Of the games I have also played, there was only one I disagreed on: Oxide Room 104. I was not impressed by it and would give it a C.

I've finished three of these... Little Nightmares, which is a stunning work of art. Gone Home, boy, that keeps you on the edge of your seat right to the end (on the first playthrough, that is 😂) The Last of Us Part 2 is dragged down for the poor story direction, not story content, just the fact that Druckman is a great video game developer, but not a narrative director. But you think Resident Evil 4 is S tier, too 😂😂

I get that it's not the same as 1-3 but it's such a good game that I can understand people not liking the original because of the controls but the Remake takes care of all of that and tightened everything up. I think it's worth playing if you haven't. As far as TLOU2, I can totally understand that it's not everybody's cup of tea. I think I understand that more than people not liking RE4 🤪

The reason why everyone hates The Last of US 2 is the following reasons. 1st off they did Joel dirty in that game. It made no sense for him to trust Abby or anyone at all when he kept on saying to Elie don't trust anyone & keep to yourself. Then somehow for whatever reason he tells them who he is etc & because of that they kill him off. That could have been done a lot better. 2nd reason people don't like this is because they are pushing the Transgender down your throat. I am not sure if Abby is a Transgender in this game or if she's actually a girl. That's another reason they hate it. I loved the gameplay me. I thought the gameplay was way better than the 1st one. My fav character is Dina.

@@tonyp9313 yeah, I realized tlou2 was very polarizing. I didn't really feel like they were shoving transgender issues down our throat at the time because in 2020 it wasn't as prevalent. I never saw Abby as transgender but more as a woman that wanted to get strong to not be the weak girl she was when her father was taken from her. I don't know why Joel trusted Abby either. Moment of weakness perhaps? Her being about the same age as Ellie and being in a safe spot for too long probably ended up letting his guard down. That's just my theory on the whole thing. I totally get though why people had a problem with it. I really enjoyed Dina's character as well. I would love to see a DLC of Tommy's side of the story.
