WOW. Thanks for taking us with you. The mounts were all so interesting. The giraffe was huge. The taxidermist sure get creative. The pigs at the fair are always cool to see. Love the livestock at the fairs. Especially the big horses. They are the most impressive animal at the fairs here. Love fair season!!! Thanks Marie and Fefe ❤️

Some of these are pristinely executed taxidermy! To make good taxidermy requires a high level of skill as an artist keeping in mind that the underlying structure is scupted then the pelt of the animal covers the sculpted body. Many of these are museum quality where it looks like the animal is alive! Many factors go into very good taxidermy that starts with how the animal passed then how soon the pelt is removed and then how the pelt is handles and processed before the artist receives the pelt. A close friend of mine works for the Museum of Natural History in NYC and is a taxidermy artist and also articulates animal skeletons in museums around the world as well as private collections. Skeleton articulation is so tediousand unbelievably difficult. Thanks so much for sharing this!

You can tell you two aren't into native american stuff. I love it !!!! There is so much time & effort that goes into making things. I guess I love it so much since I have some in my blood & I'm married to an indian.

The large lop rabbit was a French Lop, broken agouti pattern color. It was fun going with you to see the taxidermy and the fair. If you have a bird fair near you I think you would enjoy that.

The light colored animal on you thumbnail is called a Takin, pronounced as: Tok-in from Asia they are very aggressive and dangerous especially when it’s baby season. If you watch Secrets of the Zoo North Carolina the have a couple episodes about the Takin, and the little kangaroo rat is a……..kangaroo rat which IS from Australia! The animal after the kangaroo rat that has a Reddish-Brownish fur and thin white stripes is a Bongo antelope from Africa! This was a fun video thanks for sharing your dogs reaction was hilarious what a cute dog!

Marie, I would have to think Moose has to have big antlers to match his body size and to fight other big males in order to breed the females. Great auction. ❤❤❤

11:26 that animal is called a takin (there happen to be four species) you only find these guys in forested valleys to rocky, grass-covered alpine mountain environmental zones of India, Bhutan Myanmar, the eastern Himalayas and China. Unfortunately they are vulnerable species for the numbers are between 7,000 and 12,000 left. On an interesting note takin are closer related to sheep.

Although I hate seeing taxidermy animals cause I’m such an animal lover I hope they were not killed or shot to be a taxidermy I would just hope they were found dead and not have been killed I love animal a lot and it does hurt me to see them turned into that but I do have to say that is pretty cool😊🥲🙂↕️
@Justarandomcountryguy3 ай бұрын
Sorry but half these were shot to be taxidermys. Most animals found dead naturally are too rotten or ate off of to become taxidermys
