I’m an English nerd/teacher. I hated most of the Shakespeare lessons I learned in college, but my 7th grade teacher made “Romeo and Juliet” HIT! She did a ton of translating of the Early Modern English, which helped a lot. I feel like I sucked at teaching Shakespeare when I did it, but I used No Fear Shakespeare, which has the Early Modern version and the American English side by side. J’s prof should have used that - makes it so much easier to learn (even though some of the translations are wrong lol) EDIT: The question at the end of this episode, y’all. TOO MUCH 😂😂 I worry that y’all all underestimate the feral violence of kindergartners, tho pfffftttt
