I remember a few encounters over our many trips.. once we hiked around the shore from mission beach to the Tully river mouth.. sitting having lunch, felt someone watching me, turned to see a cassowary glaring at me through the bush... another time driving unsealed road to wallerman falls campground... suddenly the biggest one I've ever seen was plodding down the road like something out of Dr Zeus
@DougieL2 жыл бұрын
They are remarkable creatures to see in the wild. We stumbled upon one on a quiet road, it came out of the bush, looked at us in our campervan, then continued over the road to the bush the other side. We were lucky. Also got a nice Barra up at Newell Beach - tasted marvellous on the bbq. Great country!!

Apart from the general awesomeness of this video I am gobsmacked at seeing a Cassowary actively hunting for prey in that creek! I didn’t know they were omnivorous. When I think back at my Cassowary sightings (only in the Daintree nat park) it was always them standing in a shallow creek, as you drive along I would stop at every bridge and look left and right up the creek bed to spot them. Now it makes sense, they weren’t just getting a drink, they were hunting. My fav episode of all I think. Surprised you didn’t hook a Jungle Perch. Those estuaries, apart from having crocs also have Saratoga and best caught at night with a surface popper reeled in slowly.
@junglelifelurefishingadven89182 жыл бұрын
No Saratoga south of Cooktown and this looks like the Daintree.
@junglelifelurefishingadven89182 жыл бұрын
Jungle Perch are a tricky fish to catch mate, try use light braided line, light leader both under 10lb and long casts with surface lures. 👍

I love 🕷 spiders. My friends don't. That's an interesting, full of insects spot you're camping 🏕 in. Wish I was there and could see all the teeny creatures roaming around. It's also so cool to see cast net fishing 🎣 um..my mojos thingies don't have cast nets. So many birds also. I bet you enjoyed it as much as we did. Were there flies and mosquitos around? Have awesome camps and cheers 🍻.

Just gotta say this, recently found your channel, subscribed, and bravo! Your editing is superb, timing is brilliant, and my favorite part is the seemingly random music montages that always show up around dinner time. A lot of people do these kinds of videos but you've given yours a signature flair that makes them very entertaining to watch. I'm sure I'm not the first person to say all this but I just wanted to throw this out there for whatever it's worth. Thanks for some very relaxing unwinding time after work. I hope many others find and enjoy your creative talents as well.
