if women had ANY STREGNTH AND MORALITy to see it... they would know their privilidge... and this is how sensitive men feel about them... priviidged that men will priviildge her, cos likfe dont haunt her. she dont go through anythig like wwhta men go thru. or at least hardly ever did., their weaker wills would give up before they suffer. but., really.... torurous decades of hating men physically and mentally and emotionally... and claiming mens roles... sometimes thier lives... and throwing them away afterways...

I 1st heard this song near 40 years ago. I taped it on a cassette tape. I listened to it over and over and over again because I was being hurt by my then boyfriend. I was so young and innocent then. Listening to it made me lived through my vulnerability and got the courage to move on.. I just love the song; and Randy Crawford's voice bend so beautifully with the words, the music and everything about the song... Thank you Randy..

This song, though I've liked it many times, I'm liking it again, because I can, and above all she is one who created music that could both haunt and truly warm my heart. Truly timeless. True beauty - she doesn't try to be some big super star or make loads of money from it, but simply with her heart she is a true star. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

I love this song so much, it's so heartfelt & pure and I think that this song holds a place in everyone's heart. This song is sad for many reasons for me, it was the wedding song of my dad and stepmum and when they went through a bitter divorce and they projected their hate onto me, I used to turn to this song, even at a small age it made me feel as if everything would be ok. Years on, I still turn to it now and when my close friend died of leukaemia, this was my lifeline... :( xxxx

And the best ting about this is...Randy's voice hasn't deteriorated one bit..she still sounds the same. I watched her 2011 performance in Germany on KZbin recently and she was 59 years old at that time...this year she'll be 60 (if she isn't already by now) and she sang BEAUTIFULLY. I you ever want to see that performance and all the songs she sang just type in "RANDY CRAWFORD & JOE SAMPLE TRIO"..it's the 1st on that pops up with 59:37 minutes. Her voice is ageless :-) :-) :-)

"Almaz" was written about a couple of Eritrean refugees who were neighbours of Crawford's. The man asked Crawford to write a song about his wife, who was named Almaz (which means "diamond" in Amharic, Arabic and a number of other languages). In the song, the singer reflects on their rare form of love. In Crawford's own words, "I witnessed this perfect love affair between them, although she was considerably younger than him. This beautiful couple with their baby. As refugees they were looking for 'a world where love survives'."
