CSAIL and Imagination in Action continues the partnership in hosting the landmark event CSAIL + Imagination in Action Symposia. On June 7, 2024 experts and startup pioneers across CSAIL shared inspiring talks and thought-provoking ideas. In this talk, Randy Davis presents on "Inadvertent Interaction" explaining the notion of "unintentional interaction," in which Randy highlights the role of nonverbal cues such as eye movements and body language in enhancing human-computer interaction by revealing cognitive states and intentions. Randy's research focused on leveraging these cues to detect cognitive decline early, suggesting a novel HCI approach that utilizes subtle indicators to create a more intuitive interaction and monitor health.
