The PPIHC takes place on a 12.42 mile (19.99 km) public toll road boasting 156 turns, while competitors climb 4,720 ft. (1,440 m) from the 9,390 ft. (2,862 m) Start Line at Mile 7 marker on the Pikes Peak Highway to the 14,115 ft. (4,300 m) Finish Line at the mountain’s summit.

Randy is always awesome to watch and listen to! We watched from 9 mile this year, and had a great time in the best weather we’ve ever seen. We also toured the pits this year, and Randy’s team was awesome! They showed me a bunch of parts on the car, and talked with me about various technical aspects on it. Super cool and they genuinely want to talk to the fans. Amazing experience!

We watched from Ski Area this year, and I agree, the weather was about as perfect as it could have been! How/when did you tour the pits?? I'd love to do that next year

@@MuchoBoosto7 We drove down after setting up camp on Saturday. We were down there around 4 pm, and a lot of the teams were setup with a few still arriving. A bit chaotic but that added to the fun!

I think it is so cool to hear the "plaid ' sound when he slows down for the turns like it has to catch up because on the straights he seems to be faster than sound ! Nice smooth line all the way up.With that heavy a car it will be a wonder to go faster without more HP or a lighter car, which will make it real tricky any way.

Tesla needs to start supporting Tesla racers, they don't need much, some factory technician support with regard to a lightweight racing battery pack and some help with keeping the batteries cooled down under full race loads.

@@sebastianchmist6976 I had the same thought, liquid nitrogen would definitely work. Not good for everyday use but for short duration racing a small bottle of nitrogen would have to work.

Tesla know about Unplugged Performance and are supportive of them, their lead designer had his car tuned by Unplugged Performance. Definitely would be awesome to see Tesla get more into the racing side of things, but that wont happen for a good few years as they are too busy increasing their manufacturing output at the moment.

so 12.42 miles and the Ring is 12.8444 miles ? but the Ring goes up and down and in a circle kind of. USA should have at least on Ring type track. We have so many cars that can go fast.

I think they do have a track pack. Misha Charoudin took it around the ring and liked it. The trick with Pikes Peak is the cooling because the air is so thin, cooling works really badly for everyone.
