RIP Randy. Did two gigs on the Island in Victoria, summer of 84 with the Sick Ones, Brad Kent, Rampage, Benny Doro on bass, and I plugged in on drums, replacing Zippy. Randy was and will always be the best big brother rock n roll could ever give to a wide eyed 18 year old, fresh out of Newton. I love you , man. I wish we coulda spent more time. Once a sick One, always a Sick One!

I remember the moment when Mick Jones went off on the girls, but I didn't see them just him getting pissed. Actually that was a good thing. Compared to the Commodore gig they seemed kind of listless but once Mick got angry the intensity amped up and the Clash was brilliant. DOA had already taken some shots at the Clash what with Joey wearing his home made "Give 'em enough Cash" t-shirt.

Went to a small gig at a tiny hall in South East Van when Randy had Ground Zero. Maybe 100 people at the gig. I t was a daytime gig. Some guy in the audience yells out "You Suck!!" Randy stops playing get's on the mic. and says " Yeah?...what's the name of YOUR band'. Totally shut the guy up. He did kinda suck, but he had some of the most amazing energy, attitude, and personality on stage that it didn't matter. He had that magic thing everyone wants in the music biz.

To Jose... at that time, the term "hardcore" was not in common use in the scene. And it was more of the pogo era than mosh pit era; people were still gobbing at the bands. I was at this show, I remember Joe Strummer getting pissed at people in the crowd, saying something like "you are not going to suck us dry". Got to differ from Randy, they were touring the 2nd album, I can't recall any London Calling material. I remember them playing Armageddon Time... I thought the whole night was mind-blowing. Only personal option after that was to become a dedicated shit-disturber. DOA went on to add Dave Gregg (RIP) and grow into Hardcore grandmasters. By 82-83 if you were at a DOA show you may have been part of the most exciting music heard on the planet that day

Clash made much better music and were more influential than D.O.A., despite I like both.

First 2 clash albums I liked the rest wasn't that great few songs off each of the following records but maybe I just got tired of it. Idk

@@skinheadyouth66 I think the first two records were the most punk ones.
