I learned Round and Round by RATT from a record, and you could see it was almost white compared to the rest of the record from wear🤣. I thought I'd died and gone to heaven with the advent of CDs.

I get chills listening to this isolated guitar track. Love hearing how great Randy was and how he crafted his solos. It's very bittersweet because while you listen to his legendary playing how do you not think of what would have been, how he would have continued to grow as a guitar player and the muiscal gifts he would have blessed us with. RIP Randy.

I’ve been exploring some of the Randy isolated guitar parts and this one might be my fav for a few reasons / I like his guitar tone on this one much better than others and I enjoy the rhythm parts just as much as the solos on this tune - the early part of the guitar solo that repeats the descending phrase is violin style and this tune is chock full of greatness - this is a great illustration of how one awesome guitarist can do it all by himself in a song - incredible and dynamic rhythm parts as well as melodic virtuous solos 👍👍👍

@@miketandeski4959 It’s true that the way you hold your pick, the kind of pick you use, your muting technique and all that can affect your tone negatively or positively. But what I’m referring to is the AMP, effects and type of Microphone used to mic up the amps. Sorry man, but you can’t put it all on the hands. You could have the best hands in the world, but if you’re playing on an amp you got from Big Lots, don’t expect to get anywhere other than little kid’s birthday parties. If you have a clown amp, you will sound like a clown. If you have a clown guitar, you will sound like a clown.

All you need to do is be birthed by accomplished musicians, raised in a music school and pick up a guitar once you're big enough to hold it and then practice for 12 hours a day to reach this level.

You'll never be able to isolate the guitar as cleanly as this with just software and the final mix; once it's mixed together and exported as a single audio file, there is no going back, you might get it somewhat isolated, but with lot of bleed from the other instruments and with lost of some audio frequencies and quality. You need the separate tracks. A lot of isolated tracks come from Guitar Hero or Rock Band games, in these games they layer the multiple tracks on top of each other, recreating the final mix, but when you make a mistake they can mute the corresponding instrument track and not the whole song(tracks are lisenced so they can get the separate instrument tracks from the record company). Some people are able to rip these tracks from the games data. And Over the Mountain was indeed featured in a guitar hero game, so it's very possible it comes from there.

@@HCkev Thanks for the info. Appreciated. I though someone had taken the isolated masters from when the re-edited them when they remixed it to get bob and lee out of it. Typical $haron.

Young guitar players today are way ahead of the old players because they have all the tools to learn anything they want. Slowed down isolated tracks, lessons from anyone on YT. Lessons from the rock star themself. In the old days all you had was the tape, record, maybe a guitar book (which was always 50% wrong), and the rest was up to you! The downside to all these tools today is it's not special learning anything anymore because some 10-year-old somewhere knows it too thanks to all the information at your fingertips. Funny how every aspect of life has a catch 22!

It’s crazy because, as a drummer, it’s easy to see when the drum track would fit right in to his changes. It’s like playing follow the leader and he’s going over the mountain and through the woods to grandmother’s house where we find Ozzy laying in bed.

Now let's decipher what he's playing. It's tuned dow 1/2 step. I believe he played the main riff low E then on the middle strings 2nd fret then 1st. It sound to me like one track has him chugging steady palm mute on the 4th fret of the low E then another track hammers 2-4 as an accent. Let the madness begin ,discuss:

Randy is the only guitarist / musician I’ve known to be better live than in the studio . Sure all the album stuff is nothing short of miraculous, but when he played live and could put his fills and licks with the fire passion he did live it’s no comparison. Live he was just that much better and most of the time flawlessly altering solos and making no mistakes hardly

I'm 30 so I'm after his time but you can hear his soul in the notes and that's all I can say. He didn't get to show the world his full potential but the footprints he left behind need to be filled in some fashion because this is art he brought so much to "metal" music I mean listen to the sound of him he's one that helped pave the road for Ozzy and a lot of music nowadays he is greatly influential and my dad passed away but some first memories for me are riding in that black 85gt mustang with 3 inch exhaust welded on and it would blow it apart in neutral due to back pressure it was a bad bitch but this album was on the system my dad had and he was a truck driver. But yes this just makes me feel good cuz then I had no worries I was 4 years old.
