My husband of 48 years died this year. His ashes were scattered in the Chesapeake Bay and our celebration of his life ended at the firepit on the beach on the Rappahanock River July 4th with this song. Thank you Randy Travis.

My wife left me 8 days ago. And I deserved the worst pain I’ve ever experienced. Because I took her for granted and let petty things come between us. She was over and done. But I just talked to her for hours on the phone and sent her this song and we remembered our most precious memories in the last 18 years and I felt hope out of nowhere in our love and then the closest thing to pure joy short of the Holy Spirit. May God forgive and hear my prayer and restore my family. Either way.. I will love and trust in him with all my heart to direct my footsteps and walk in his grace.

Lyrics You may think that I'm talkin' foolish You've heard that I'm wild and I'm free You may wonder how, I can promise you now This love that I feel for you always will be But you're not just time that I'm killin' I'm no longer one of those guys As sure as I live, this love that I give Is gonna be yours until the day that I die Oh, baby! I'm gonna love you forever, forever and ever, Amen! As long as old men sit n' talk about the weather As long as old women sit n' talk about old men If you wonder how long I'll be faithful I'll be happy to tell you again I'm gonna love you forever and ever, forever and ever, Amen! They say that time takes it's toll on a body Makes a young girl's brown hair turn gray But, honey, I don't care, I ain't in love with your hair And if it all fell out, well, I'd love you anyway They say time can play tricks on a memory Make people forget things they knew Well, it's easy to see, it's happenin' to me I've already forgotten every woman but you Oh, darlin'! I'm gonna love you forever, forever and ever, Amen! As long as old men sit n' talk about the weather As long as old women sit n' talk about old men If you wonder how long I'll be faithful Well, just listen to how this song ends I'm gonna love you forever and ever, forever and ever, Amen! There's something about good old classic country. It's like ice tea on a hot day. It has a way of telling a story that you want to hear over and over again. It's the small things in life that make everything worth wild. A memory of a dance a memory of a loved one and even a smell will bring back a smile. To whom ever this touches in a way that brings back a smile. Cheers to my fellow rocking chair listeners.

This was my girl's song. Today would've been a year if she wasn't sleeping with another man. I didn't even say anything. I packed up and left. Currently leaving for Georgia and never looking back, but here I am... Listening to this and drowning my sorrows with tears. I gave her all i had... My heart, my soul.. all of me. Its only been four days and she didn't even try to fight for it. Actions definitely speak louder than words. Maaaaaaaan 😢

I grew up with music like this and now that I'm 15 I finally understand this song, this is what I want, like what my grandparents who showed me this song had they were married 55 years before my grandpa passed two years ago I'm writing this as my grandma is in the hospital, I'm so ashamed of the young generation I was born in, I believe that I do not belong here for this is all I want whereas my generation is all about hookups.
