I was, maybe, 10 when my sister & I were taken to see José Greco & his troupe perform in Wichita Falls, Texas. The wood floors of our house suffered for weeks after from our attempts to emulate his dancers & we still cherish the memory of that evening of live & lively dance so long ago & are still fans over 60 years later!

Me hizo preguntas. Si me agradaran mis profesores y si amo a mi mamá. Thank you so much for this. When I was 10 yrs old I met Jose Greco in Manhattan when they were doing auditions for the Jose Greco Dance Company tour. He was coming out of retirement at 70 years old! I went to the audition. He asked me questions. If I liked my teachers and if I love my mom. I made him laugh so much I got the part right there. At the time I had no idea who he was. My mom was a fan. But we got to travel with an actual DANCE TROUPE...and I remember the pain of taking off my eye makeup after every show but I was bribed with all the food I wanted lol. Once I left for the Army I had heard that he had passed. He was the only person who I saw put people in a trance with his footwork. His son too (Jose Greco Jr.) was always practicing. ALL of them were always practicing. And all were very skilled artists. Carmela was always so sweet to me. I have nothing but fond memories.

Terrific! I watched this because of the Dick Van Dyke scene where the dad says his boy started studying Jose Greco! Awesome!
