I was born and raised in Idaho. Hunting is in our blood and I'm sure it started before i remember, but i do remember being very young. Walking with my father, pictures of us at camp, wall tent in 2 feet of snow. Elk quarters hanging in trees, mule deer in the back of the truck and my first deer. We said a prayer, he smoked a cigarette and i gutted. Later, i was the shooter, he watched and still smoked as i gutted, same wall tent, in the snow. Those were the best years of my hunting life.. He died some time ago. I'm a little older now, still hunt, but its not the same. Thanks for taking me along... its about family, always has been. Randy W

I really appreciate your emphasis on hunting is family time. Your videos always remind me of the time I spent in the wood with my Dad growing up in western Pa. I only wished I had not moved west to Az at such a young age (23) we never hunted together again after that and I regret that now that he is gone. However I love the west and Az and trying to create those bonds with my kids. This video made me try to rally my son and daughter to accompany me this weekend on an Az duck/quail hunt with our GSHP. Thank you so much Randy and your whole family and crew.

I have hunted pronghorn with my son in Mt since 1995. It is by far the most fun and rewarding hunting I’ve ever done. The times we’ve been together hiking, glassing, plotting, shooting, gutting and hauling and being snookered by antelope are priceless memories. Antelope as a whole, get no respect from farmers or hunters. In fact, they are amazing creatures and WAY more fun to hunt and stalk than deer, elk, moose and bear. I teared up as you described your hunts because I share those memories with you. Thanks for sharing.

Such a wonderful video and hunt Randy! Had me tearing up. I lost my dad at the end of Sept only a few weeks after I got his buy in to join me on an elk hunt. Wisconsin gun deer season was our time with so many cherished memories. God bless many more seasons for you and your son to share!

My cousin-in-law Rick and I had some amazing hunts for pronghorns in Wyoming. So many memories of easy and even one where we literally pulled it together when a rancher up and leased out his property to a guide and left us with nowhere to hunt. He’s not with me anymore and I ache knowing how much we had together. God bless you guys.

Fantastic. Brings back so many personal memories for me. To make it short as possible. Taught our two boys how to hunt in western Oregon in the rain and timber . First time we went antelope hunting in the high desert in Southeast Oregon our youngest was 12. He will be 44 this year. All four of us went over for that initial hunt. So different. Hot, dry, and you can see forever. Antelope hunting is magical for me for those reasons and more. Scott

You're living life right Randy. Family time is the best time, whether it's hunting or fishing or watching a movie. I'm thinking that your Raptor is part of the family now, too. And like a family dog, when it's time for it to move to the hunting ground in the sky, well, you will have to go out and find a younger pup, so to speak. Well done. Thank you for sharing.

When we leave this world all that we take with us, that we didn't arrive with, is our memories......take the shot. Forget the picture. Because the image will forever be developed in your mind.

Had Mathew hit the buck? Or was it just a miss? I hate it when you raise a question and leave it hanging. I realise that you aren't going to film the "bad" hit after the kill, but you could at least tell us, or not raise it in the first place.

I guess I just don't understand why you would leave your rifle 400 yards at the truck while you are hunting.

Over and over again, I see you and Matthew walk out to a glassing point with your spotting scope and leave your scoped rifle back at the truck. You don't have bad luck, You just have a flawed process. You can only take advantage of an opportunity IF you are prepared to take advantage of it. Wildlife do NOT stand around while you run back to the truck to get a rifle you should have had with you in the first place. Have the equipment you need when and where you need it and take the shot you have (provided it is within your accurate shooting range) rather than waiting for a better (closer) shot.
@Fresh_Tracks
@Fresh_Tracks 2 күн бұрын
We don't have a flawed process when one considers that we are filming. When filming, it takes a lot of time for cameras to get set up, focused, etc. We also take a ton of time to analyze every potential stalk, as doing so with cameras adds a lot of complication. We also try to get as close as possible, passing a lot of shots others would take. I know for most who are not filming, they probably wonder why we are so analytical and slow to shoot. If we want quality stories and quality footage, we accept that some animals might escape unharmed. Just part of the gig when filming. Thanks for watching.

Antlers/horns are where it's at. Meat you eat, poop out, and it goes in the septic field, makes the grass greener for a while and is gone forever. Antlers last and are a reminder of the hunt.

Do you guys are favor. When shooting from a hard surface like that backpack, take a freaking Armageddon gear bag with sand in it etc and you'll be able to actually steady yourself. Putting a hard stock on a hard bag does not work.

I'm not hauling a bag around while hunting. I work on improvising with my pack and other "makeshift" rests. Does it always work? Nope. But, I already carry too much gear for filming and I'm not inclined to add a few more pounds with a bag.

I dunno, man. I laid my hard stock right down on the hard frame of my backpack this year... Deer dropped dead where he was laying when I pulled the trigger.
