Boy, Matthew sure seems like a nice young man! Watching him over the years, mature, grow, and get more comfortable on camera, before our very eyes, has been very nostalgic. You cant help, but feel as though he's your nephew/grandson/son in law/etc., who you brag about to friends/coworkers, that good young men "still exists". Randy+ friends, my son, Mark is the exact same way, calm-cool-level headed-patient-down to earth. Im not, just like you Randy, like Matthew and Mark, and thats ok. Old souls, indeed. Thank you for sharing Matthew with your viewers and friends, restores faith in good people/men, who represent their conduct/behavior/ethics/morals/choices, because they want to live "right". Boy, you and Mrs. Newburg, shoud be very proud indeed! I know my wife and i are, of our son Mark, as well. Thanks for sharing Randy. Nice job Matthew! 👌

Imagine the hunter that goes out, takes two shots at the buck, misses both, and on top of that Randy & co record the two missed shots and put it out on KZbin for all to see. You know his buddies are going to be forwarding this to him. ;-)

Awesome video. The production quality has really seen an uptick. I’m loving the new talking head styles, the VO from Randy, and the educational highlights (including historical and biological information.) Awesome to have the whole migration map visuals as part of the hunt video.

You call Mathew laid back which he is but sometimes he ponders way too much. So it was nice to see him make up his mind quicker this episode. 6.8 PRC took two shot, should have stuck with the 7mm08. I’m surprised you went to a controversial round. Huh. 🤔 nice buck. Sadden by the winter kill. Good on everyone involved to maintain this very neat herd of mule deer.

I can remember back in the mid 90s early 2000s that the research was going on with the ELK and the researchers went to the ranchers and ask if they would make way for them by cutting fences and alot of them said yes just show us where and it will be done ,,a couple didn't care to but they did

Nice hunt, I’ve been trying to draw a hunt in a California migration zone for 13 years. It usually takes 20 plus years to get drawn. I’ve heard of folks drawing it within one attempt and then getting drawn a second time in just a few years later. Luck of the draw I guess.

I can't stand people who can't make a hit - the person who missed twice. Get closer or practice more, or don't take the shot
@Mike-xi4zt28 күн бұрын
Occasionally equipment fails. Like scope mounts. It is not always the hunter. Your tunnel vision illustrates that you are not really an experienced Hunter.
@anthonyf652527 күн бұрын
@@Mike-xi4zt or they just need to get closer or practice more. There was no equipment failure. And that's funny 🤣
@anthonyf652527 күн бұрын
@Mike-xi4zt too many people shoot 2 or 3 rounds right before hunting season off a bench and have no clue where they hit at distance, or don't practice under field conditions. Hopefully you do. And I won't go into personal attacks or insults, like you. Fact is that guy missed twice, no excuse for it. He needs to get better. Fact.
@Mike-xi4zt27 күн бұрын
@@anthonyf6525 it is logistically impossible for you to monitor how many rounds all hunters practice with before they go hunting. yet you're telling me you do. That means that you are making up stories that aren't true. People are not perfect. Equipment is not perfect. People who think they have never miss are people who are making up stories. I have had scope base screws come loose and base windage adjustment screw head fall off in the middle of nowhere, while on expensive hunting trips. I ckecked sight in the day before the scope base screws came loose. Everything was good until I saw a big buck and a big bull and started shooting. Afterwards I checked my zero to discover the rifle would not group. Upon further examination I discovered the scope base screws had come loose. Now I use two-part epoxy on a one-piece Picatinny scope base before I tighten it down. I have always done a lot of practice shooting, because I like to. Sometimes sch!tt happens. Stop thinking you are above reproach.
@anthonyf652527 күн бұрын
@Mike-xi4zt did I say I'm above reproach? Once again, going after the poster instead of focusing on the post. Fact is, he shot twice, missed twice. I've watched people on a mountain shoot at a buck five times before hitting it. I've watched guys at the range shoot their bolt action 30-06 at 25 yards and called it good. People outshoot their abilities far more than they experience equipment failure.
