I thought my magnet was stuck on the crossfader so I did just this. The magnet wasnt there. It wasnt stuck on the rail or on the screw. So I took apart the other 2 up faders and NEITHER had a magnet attached. Is it possible my 72 came without magnets on all 3 fades? I'm going crazy here. Any help would be great! Thank you!

I took all 3 of those “SCREWED” so called MAG whatever no use tensionair that causes extra weight. I also use the RadioShack Control/Contact Cleaner & Lubricant the best long lasting butter for fader rails. I would recommend using non cotton or anything that has some type of lint material. What I use to apply the lube is the tip of a ziptie soaking it with the lube & glide it thru the rails. It’s better more efficient to avoid touching the other parts besides the rails!

Is it possible to replace the fader with an ino-fader? Or maybe the S9 fader
@NeroSwitchDj4 жыл бұрын
Innofader yes, check the website, the cross of s9 isn't compatible

how reliable are those screws with built in magnets? I've already seen a couple of reports of the magnet falling off.

DJ BIS they are but before I knew about this issue, I used it as a workaround **spoke too soon...now the left deck upfader bleeds even when closed! This joint is going back ASAP!

I took the screw and the magnet off. It adds weight. Plus it doesn’t add much tension. The S9 fader does a better job at adding tension. The tensioner on the 72 is garbage
@enfoe6 жыл бұрын
Btw the magnet and the screw are held together with a small dab of hot glue. It’s complete garbage design. When the screw and the magnet are out, it feels much better to me. Still not as good as it should be. Personally the weight of the fader is too much. I like a little weight to the fader but this fader is a bit much
@NastyRhythm6 жыл бұрын
seems a bit of a pita to change the tension every time. love the mixer but a few people have said that the fader feels quite heavy compared to the s9. Ps great video.. informative and clear. cheers dude

Thank you! I'm thinking the tension will be a set-and-forget adjustment for most of us.

the best, lightest and sturdy fader ever built by Rane is from ttm56 and 57, should never have changed since it was already perfect

Is there any way to turn off the crossfader? I use volume bars more than the crossfader, and haven't figured out how to turn off the fader, like I did on my old DJM 850.

Leave it in the middle. #whoah

I just bought the deoxit fader F5 to lubricate the fader a bit because it sticks a bit in the middle. You mentioned not spraying directly on the bar, just a few dabs...what would you suggest I use to gently apply the lubricant?
@djsoo6 жыл бұрын
With my 62, I used to disassemble the fader entirely and clean, and then spray directly on the bars away from the board. I would spray, and then wipe off some of the excess as well as clean the slots in the carrier as well. It's a bit of a pain, but it's probably the best way to avoid harming your electronics. If you check out the Rane website, they also suggest using Dupont Teflon Multi-Use spray over the Caig Deoxit fader lube (they used to recommend the deoxit) as the Dupont doesn't attract as much dust as the deoxit requiring less regular maintenence of the faders. I found that using the Caig deoxit, I would have to re-apply lube more regularly - especially if I was doing an outdoor gig.

Don’t use the gaig oil or whatever it’s called. That stuff gunks up every time. Use clipper oil or gun oil. Clipper is better and won’t gunk up. Gun oil will, but it takes a very long time for it to do so. Rane is either making money off of the sale of caig oil or something. Despite what rane has said, clipper/gun oil will not mess up the electronics. I’ve used clipper/gun oil ever since I bought my vestax 06pro brand new in 2000.

Caig offers the Fader Lube IN a really nice and compact, convenient needle nose bottle that allows you to place very accurate amounts of oil with tons of physical precision over the railing or wherever you may need it. part# F100L-L25C

Could I use wd40 or any standard pen lube for my 57 faders?
@enfoe6 жыл бұрын
The tensioner is just a tensioner. It doesn’t float over the railing. It still has contact with the railing. The plastic still touches the railing. It doesn’t “float” like a mag lift train. The mag lift train technology is some quite complex where this fader is no where near that complexity. It doesn’t “float”

I switched the faders around three times and each one becomes stiff after a couple of minutes. I also adjusted the tension and that works for a couple of minutes and then it becomes stiff again. I called Rane and they are sending some kind of lubrication to put on them. It shouldnt need any...ive only had the seventy two for 5 months.

Why didn't they instal the same as a S-9 fader, and also adjuster . I bought the mixer but usually people don't want to use a driver to setting the fader like that. S-9 is easy man.

I just got a Rane 72 today to finally get a new mixer because my 62s faders are garbage breaking like every 2 months, come to find, even with a different name (Mag 3 🙄) They still have the same problem. The cross fader feels like they’re lubed with molasses. Now I have to drive all the way back to return it. Rane, go back to the TTM-57sl fader design. As soon as you guys starting manufacturing the 62, your faders suck. The plastic is cheap. Why else would they put a tutorial up on fixing your fader? Chances are you’re going to be doing it a lot.
@ceasarnunez56522 жыл бұрын
No way! It shouldn't be this difficult.I've never experienced these issues with my Pioneer. I should have listened and never bought the Rane One.
