Great video! I've probably watched this 20 or more times while waiting on my Rane 70 to ship (pre-ordered in mid-April). I think your suggestion about holding SHIFT + Instant Doubles tab: to toggle between modes is on point! I've been posting that concept in all the Rane FB groups hoping it will gain more traction and be implemented in a future update!

@@ClevelandTerry that would've been nice probably but you don't need a usb port for phase. Not from the mixer and not even from your laptop is my point, as the drawback mentioned was not having enough usb ports or having to use one from the laptop. Using mine with a pair of sc5000m's and I actually love it. I got it instead of a Prime mixer because I'm more of a 2-channel mixer kind of DJ also the fact that it has Hardware effects that I could use when in Standalone mode. The one frustration that I had was the USB ports, oh yes they are not strong enough to handle the sc5000m's. I've actually had to use the USB hub on the 5000m linking one player to another and then a master line into the computer. I actually tried a powered USB hub and that only made things worse. For some reason the powered USB hub made the sound distorted. So now I can DJ with Serato and in Standalone mode and the rane 70 is working just fine, my only issue now is DJing using a streaming service namely Tidal, my internet connection is not strong enough my router is on the second floor and I DJ in the basement. Once I find a way to extend my Wi-Fi I will be golden as the setup is working fine.
@tylerkepple6402 жыл бұрын
Look at a ethernet over powerline adapter kits, uses the romex AC power lines in your house to send data over that copper and converts to ethernet at either plug end, I use this as my DJ lab is in my bedroom at the opposite end of my apartment. Only caveat is that you need to have it plugged direct into the outlet and not going through a power strip, but so far seems to work fairly well. TP-Link makes a decent affordable one, or at least they used to. I'm sure other brands have them as well. It sure beats stringing a cable and/or drilling and cutting into walls, and also beats wifi unless you pay for really nice mesh system like Google or Linksys offers, which are a lot more pricey.

So my question is will the usb hub work with my dennon SC5000? I think I’ll be good but my rane 70 been back order since the Obama administration so I can’t see for myself!

What there is no cue button like the 62 and 72. That's so sad. 😢
@ClevelandTerry4 жыл бұрын
Yup cue button gone on main faders.
@EvanBlack114 жыл бұрын
@@ClevelandTerry they could of added that. That wouldn't change the price in any way

Evan Black in all honesty, the fader cue is fine. I’m used to it now because of the S9.

Well i must be honest... I do not know what to buy... I like the ELITE a lot... Because I understand the ELITE better ... Are the Innofader are good as the faders on this mixer?
@ClevelandTerry4 жыл бұрын
I prefer the innofader but you can put an innofader into this mixer.

And the $1,500 question- is the Rane70 worth upgrading from the S9?
@djsamsmite4 жыл бұрын
If you have an S9 you’re good. Save yourself $1500. But if you are in the market for a new mixer, then the seventy is a good choice.

Great Review... I have a 72 and I just still feel it’s a better “s9”.... the 70 is like if the 72 & s9 had a baby. 😂

quite a big baby though ;)

Vladimir Abreu I definitely agree but for me I just like the presentation of it the 72. It’s also custom friendly with them pad modes. Plus, That screen does something to me every time I turn it on! 😅

the usbs should really be there to power what ever you want to put in them .Its certainly possible to do this but i suspect that Rane was being a bit selfish and trying to make you only use them for its controllers ie the 12s,You are right its not a deal breaker but it is kind of taking the piss.

how did you come about your name Cleveland Terry
@djmarv40914 жыл бұрын
Deal breakers for me 1. No BPM autodetect for playing from vinyl or even the SC5000s for the hardware FX! 2. No CUELOOP (which I have grown to like). They seem to push tone play like we are all threestyle DJs. I’m going to wait to see if there is going to be an S9 MK2.

No auto bpm on records is wack but still solid mixer
