This was my first listing of Pt. Jasraj 25 years ago along with my mother who was trained in classical music 8 decades ago. I was awestruck by this divine singing. That was a T series cassette. Since then I have been listening him especially bhajans. Always soothing and fulfilling the soul's quest. We are fortunate to have some great classical artists like Pt. Jasraj, Kumar gandharva, Pt. B Joshi etc. May God give peace to the departed soul of Pandit je. His bhajans also reminds me my dear mother with whom I used to listen him during those days of my teaching jobs.

पंडित जी का ये भजन पहली बार सुना! हमारे पास तो शब्द ही नहीं । सिर्फ नमन कर सकते हैं ।जिस प्रकार उनकी बिटिया दुर्गा उनके साथ रहती- गाती थीं , बहुत अच्छा लगता है । अहोभाग्य कि हमने उन्हें देखा, सुना । और नित्य पूजा की तरह सुनते हैं । वैसे वे हरि चरणों में ही वास कर रहे होंगे और नित्य उनका गुणगान करते होंगे । जय श्री हरि! जय श्री कृष्ण!

I absolutely love this performance, and other, similar ones. The players seem to be a cohesive unit, all thinking together as they watch, listen to and feel their Master leading them. The Master? He delivers his lines, seeming to be transported to a completely different dimension while the players stay here with us. Now and then, after he delivers a section of the raga, he looks around, smiling and full of love for his players, almost seeming to be surprised that he's back here again with us, back in 3D reality. Just extraordinary. I've only witnessed this phenomenon in Indian Classical Music, and almost always in a vocal performance.
