How about fixing the platter issues My left platter if I touch the side and slow or speed up by moving it it acts like my hand is on the top this unit is only 8 months old My first Rane product I’m not very happy since I only buy pioneer and never have a issue.

It's true you can connect turntables or Twelves via DVS. However, I only learned from experimenting that stems split requires all 4 decks to be in INT mode in Serato. Which is probably why Rane is emphasizing that the Four is expandable using Twelves or LC6000s because they can be used in INT mode, whereas DVS requires REL mode

Excellent talk through video. Quick question: Do you know if it is possible to keylock after doing a stem split? In other words, once the instrumental is on either deck 3 or 4, if you nudge the jog wheel the pitch will alter momentarily. The same goes for the vocal channels.

Love Rane, been using the Rotary Empath mixer for a decade. Incredibly well built and smooth. No doubt their DJ gear is top notch. However this all in one is not yet to par. The platters are too small 7" they need to be 12" or at least 10" = a bigger platter will also you more room to make the screen larger for viewing. If you were raised on true vinyl, the sweet spot for cues, scratching and juggling is farther out than the 7" area. Another thing missing is coaxial digital output and input. Most importantly, there is no USB 3,1 or SD card slots for music files...... you still need to use a horrid laptop.

@@Blackbird_80 Then why have platters at all? If you are going to put time and money into having 7" platters on an All-in-one unit...... The point is to make a single unit that does it all. I spin Hip Hop for which yes lots of scratching happens, but then I also spin Techno and House. Sometimes I spin DnB. It's a nice unit, but not 100%.

@@Blackbird_80 I love vinyl for sure. Spun on vinyl from 1987 til 2012. If Rane drops a RANE 5 then my suggestion to Rane is to make it with bigger platters- 10" being the perfect middle ground. The Rane 4 has a 8.5 platter total including the side where the BPM light graph is {although it's just for looks}. The "vinyl" area is only 7".

Hi I am in need of some help.. When I load a track and and hit the stem split my track loads into the 3rd deck BUT its not playing any sound, only the Grey shadow of the track is showing and following along with deck 1 but for some reason its taking away both Acapella and the instrumental?

Make sure your Serato DJ Pro is updated, then make sure both volume levels are up for the channels you are splitting to. It's possible that the fully greyed out track does not have any vocals at that particular time (which would result in no audio).

I honestly don't get all the hype around Stems. The drums and and melody are OK, but I've yet to come across a vocal that sounds good in stems mode, good enough to use. The vocals in this video is a prime example. And I understand that cutting drums, bassline and melody will affect the vocals, but my take is: if it can't be done as it should sound, then don't do it. Maybe AI will be able to fill in the gaps in the future? But as it is now, i'im not inclined to use it.

How to save $1700 in just 23min.. Obvious how they waited until the end and then breezed past the non-motorized jogs. Take any dj controller, add a $30 midi device and map the stems. I WAS a loyal Rane user but jogs are a slap in the face. They clearly rushed this in order to be the first out with stems but I’m not waiting another yr for Rane to put out a motorized version (assuming they still care about djs that is). The waveforms in the jogs are useless for scratching as there’s no zoom option. Btw you’re not Apple. Everything doesn’t have to be super secret, big unveil. The best way to keep us from buying from a competitor not owned by inMusic is to tell us what we can expect and when. Thanks for the vid, now I’m off to buy a Rev 7

If you have not tried the platters then do not knock them there great I have this unit It sounds better than my s11 mixer and the platters are better than my cdj 900 nexus Rane 7 I hate the pitch control on top that having to reach over is dumb and I come from turntables but I never turned my tables in that position Ever Product is rushed to market some are good and some are not but you have to at least try them before being negative
