Nice work with a tight grouping. Glad to see this generation at the range.
@RobertHamm-u7c6 ай бұрын
Good job, Talia. Here’s a tip that’ll help you tighten up your groups. Pull your support hand rearward and push your firing hand forward at the same time. Tighten your grip holding the pistol. Those 2 tips will help you control the recoil and tighten your groups. Also, focus on your stance. Your right foot heel should be even with the toes of your left foot. Both feet should be shoulder width apart. Knees slightly bent. Upper body squared up with the target. By using these tips, you’ll see a dramatic improvement.

Glad to see a young lady getting involved in shooting. It's a really fun hobby and you never know--it may save your life someday. If I could make one suggestion to really improve the shooting experience--if it is possible you should join an outdoor gun range/gun club. You will be able to do things at an outdoor range that an indoor range would never be able to allow with the exception being competitions and stuff but you can do it whenever you want. I'm talking about incorporating movement into your shooting which is very important and basically impossible to practice indoors. PLUS outdoor ranges usually have rifle ranges and shooting rifles is rad. Have fun and stay safe!

@@TaliaCiana I can vouch for the Maglula’s if you’re loading a lot of cartridges. I took part in a two-day advanced combat pistol course some years ago where each participant fired some 750 rounds total; we had been advised beforehand to get a Maglula. I was only one of two or three who did so, and during the first day, we were zipping through the mag loading process while the others were complaining of sore thumbs and fingers. The next day, we all had Maglula’s 😁

The first two shots are most critical for self defense shooting, try it out and practice. Center mass shots, not head shots. Glad to see you are getting some good practice.😊

Good shooting. I would suggest a different grip to help keep that muzzle down. Love seeing you kids getting into the hobby. Most people now adays recommend both thumbs on the left side gripping the fingers of the right hand, tightly. Honest Outlaw has an excellent example of what is considered the best way to grip a pistol on his channel.

I grew up shooting guns and I was in the US military for 5 years so I’m comfortable around them but my wife used to be deathly afraid of guns. I took her to a gun range one day and she had a blast. Now she will ask me when our next gun range trip will be lol

I've been talking to every woman I know (including coworkers) about arming themselves, I really use myself as an example for a what if scenario because I am a large guy that is rather built, and I ask them what they could do without a firearm against someone my size, that usually convinces them to at LEAST get a FOID card (I live in the ingloriously corrupt state of illinois)
@JR-yn4cu3 ай бұрын
Maybe if you guys went to a free outdoor range. They are usually around state parks, at least in my state anyway. They were made so hunters can safely ensure their guns are sighted in before hunting in the forest/woods of the parks. One that I go to sometimes has no one there or very few people show up while I’m there. You sometimes can’t find them on a map either. If she could plink stuff with a .22 rifle that would be fun or a PCC maybe. You may have tried these things but I do know for someone that hasn’t been around guns, a busy range or even an indoor range can be a little much for them. Being out in nature with just yourselfs and your guns plinking stuff at will would be the best way to make it fun though.

Left handed shooters... Why are we punished with higher priced firearms?
@alejandrogonzales70226 ай бұрын
I LOVE working with left handed shooters! They can just mirror my movements because we can face each other while still pointing our muzzles in the same direction. Also, with some technical adjustments, you can manipulate a "right handed" pistol just as easily/quickly as a righty. But, there are plenty of ambidextrous designs out there nowadays.

It is typical in shooting situations for there to be a lot of hits to the hands. We see a weapon, we tend to focus on it, so we will naturally shoot the hands as a result; training can help overcome this tendency and help focus on center mass/ head. Still, you were center mass on the hands, so that is good.
