I see no bargain here whatsoever. First one with mileage to the moon and back plus it's a diesel - good luck with insurance, maitenance, cost of turbocharger/gearbox. Second one didn't have mot for long time so probably bill from local garage was astronomical and the last one - nice mileage but I am suspicious that it didn't make a mile since last mot (probably made in "local" garage) which was made half a year ago. To sum up - don't buy cars like those if you don't have your own garage or deep pockets but with deep pockets you can find something with warranty. Those cars aren't on the auctions without the reason

Well spotted, imperative that you do your research when buying at auction 👍

My mate who owns a large 'car supermarket' sends them straight to the auction if he takes one in part exchange as he can't afford to give second hand ones a warranty.

Used prices for pretty much all JLR products are in free fall, with CAP showing used values dropping in the thousands from March to April for Range Rover with no signs of slowing. By the time these cars go to auction, which can only mean a week the guide price can be out by a couple of grand. Most not making bottom book or reserve, so they end up on the auction merry go round week after week. Range rovers have always been overpriced, because of the clientele that buy them, this has now changed as interest rates have rocketed and the usual Range Rover buyer can no longer afford the monthly payments. Those with real wealth know not to buy one if the first place. Parts shortages, insurance premiums through the roof due to thefts, greedy dealers, poor reliability the list is endless. As it stands currently in the marketplace and at main dealers we’re seeing £45k cars up for sale with a trade/CAP price of less than £30k. Be warned, nothing but pain in this market at the minute.

Once the original owner has done with his JLR product, it drops down the food chain to people who can't afford to service them properly. Problems occur and by the time they are 4/5 years old, they need a small fortune spending on them to bring them back up to a reliable state. If you buy one of these, make sure you've got at least £5k (more likely £10k) as fall back money to fix it when the dash inevitably lights up like a Christmas tree, and the turbo smokes more than Dot Cotton!

@@michaelcrump1288Theft of the cars is causing insurance issues here in the UK, in that a lot of people can no longer afford to insure their car, or get outright refused for cover. On top of that, the 3 litre has issues with crankshafts snapping. These two issues are what’s pushing the values down.

Please purchase any LR vehicle, they represent the most opulent vehicle of any make! You get excellent value for money. Please buy, as my LR shares are doing very well. Thank you 🙏🏻

Apparently they won't even insure these cars in London now because they are stolen so much, very unreliable and cost a fortune to maintain, steer clear.

I just love all the humpty comments about RRs from would-be car experts. All complete tosh, they are fabulous cars but if you can't afford one or the maintenance then don't buy a shitter and then moan about poor reliability. 😂

Two reasons the auction prices have dropped. 1. Insurer’s refusing to cover them and 2. Endless poxy car dealers on KZbin bad mouthing them…..

Mate I’ve just bought a 2014 LWB 5.0 supercharged petrol with 70k miles. Runs like a dream, just had it serviced at Land Rover, big service £700. Had it 4 months and it’s been perfect. Buy a diesel I can imagine it will suffer issues, big engine petrol with a well maintained history they ain’t as bad as every one makes out. It’s people who buy £100k cars and don’t service them for 2 year intervals that’s the problem. These land rovers need 5k mile oil changes and you’d be surprised how many miles you can get out of them fault free
@blairoutproject7 ай бұрын
@@williamedmonds8097 I won't be surprised. Run a petrol L322 on LPG, it's on original gearbox with 150k on it. Ran a L322 3.6 from 77k to 115k no probems. Running an L405 3.0 derv with 98k on it at present.

I don't understand why car dealers who should know the game would buy the 3.0d they are the worst engine on the road for reliability. My mates dad bought one 5 month ago engine went last week. Snapped crank. Best with the 4.4 tdv8 or petrol. Of l3222 with v8
