After 3 years and 120k of driving my RR Evoque goes back next week. Overall it is a good car, spoilt by niggling issues culminating in a full engine replacement at 105k. The car is good to drive and feels premium, but silly issues with Headlight bulbs burning our, Sat Nav issues, Service now warning continuously on, rear doors staying locked, cabin design faults, ad blue top up, and the engine blowing up have taken the shine off this car. However, the main issue I found was the appalling customer service from the JLR dealers. I will be kinda sad to see it go, I am getting a jaguar XE from the pool next week, have i just jumped from the fire into the frying pan?

I'm amazed that even Matt is still going on about LR reliability but then when you've been unreliable for so long even the smartest reviewers are afraid to acknowledge that things have changed. We've had 3 post-Tata-motors LRs of one sort or another and never had a problem with any of them. Agree about the Evoque though. It's a fashion statement that has now fallen through the gaps.

Good, honest review. But I'm afraid to say I've had it with LR. They're always in the garage and because of their marketing, the hysteria and desirability means LR don't have to give a damn. And they don't. I actually drove my cousin's Isuzu D-Max the other day by chance and have realised pickup trucks have come a very long way in the last 10 years. I'm sure the D-max has all the off-roading capability I could want, and ironically, because it's a lot cheaper than a LR or Macan, you'll actually take it off-road. There are plenty of off-road trails you can explore in Britain which you can explore by yourself or in a convoy. These are nice way to explore the countryside with the family as well as enjoy some minor off-roading terrain. Anyway, my two cents. Sorry to sound like an advert lol
@LifeOfNathan8 жыл бұрын
+lapamful LR are a lot more reliable now. Since working with Jaguar many improvements have been made. Granted, they don't quite match up to the Germans...
@lewis728 жыл бұрын
Really ? My colleague/friend bought a brand new Audi TT about 16 months ago and he's had no end of grief with it. It's been back to the dealer for: - Flaking paint on front & rear bumpers. - Door glass not adjusting for open/close, so the door won't close properly. - Faulty bonnet hinges... 'repaired' more than once. and these are just what I can remember. The after sales has been dreadful. They do not test their warranty fixes as they claim that per-procedure fixes *will* cure the problem yet they do not test to see if the actions were, indeed, per-procedure. He's currently been trying to get Audi UK to buy the car back from him as it's below standard but they have been passing him around departments and fobbing him off with lame excuses e.g. 'Oh, the person dealing with your enquiry is off work at the moment'. I've got two German cars. They're not all that.
@lapamful8 жыл бұрын
Life Of Nathan doesn't matter to me. I'm sure they're still nowhere near as reliable as a D-Max, and nowhere near as cheap. Nor do you have the stigma that comes with owning a Chelsea Tractor. Sadly, there are a very few cars out there that are really worth buying. But manufacturers don't have to worry as long as people continue to buy cars that only have a slick marketing campaign behind them.
@justme91448 жыл бұрын
if you want a realy cheep off roader you can go for dacia duster or suzuki jimmny. haha you surely wont be afreid to take them off road... but range rover is for different type of people... more of a car to be seen in...

My 1987 Granada Scorpio has got puddle lamps on each of its 4 doors, albeit with no logo though. Am sure a "Ford" stencil could fix that !! I took one of these proper off-roading (Eastnor Castle) and I was very impressed. However, on the road, the road noise in the back was horrendous. Not acceptable for a car of this price.
