I must say you are my go to for vehicle reviews, especially for being from Canada. I like watching videos where the info is relevant to where I live... also the real world theme you are going with is excellent. Its nice to see this, I am always checking out new videos. From east coast Canada

We recently got a Range Rover Sport diesel for my mom to replace her Q7 after its lease ended. We've had it for about 1 month now. Though I disliked it initially, I drove it exclusively for the past week, and I've completely changed my mind. The styling has really grown on me, to the point where I actually love the way it looks, the fuel economy is amazing! It gets better mileage than my car, which is a much smaller sedan. Another thing I love is the adaptive suspension. I can put it in offroad mode and I'm sitting higher than 90% of cars on the road whenever I want, then lower it again when I want to tackle some turns. Another thing; this is our first diesel vehicle, and while it doesn't rev high and IMO isn't as fun as a gasoline, the power is very well suited to a big SUV. One problem with the powertrain is that the start/stop system is pretty slow, though you do get used to it, it's still pretty annoying having to turn it off every time you start the car; I wish it would remember your preference. One thing I don't like is the heads up display, which compared to German products is lacking and looks unrefined, and as you brought up, the interior isn't indicative of the price of the car. Regardless, the one we got is red with the painted bottom sills, and 21" wheels. It looks really good! Thanks for the review!

7.5 for interior function. The storage in the car is depressing and the rear seats are way too firm. 7.5 is generous.

Great review! Love the real world info and the little humour. For more interior storage, Andrea should try the New Toyota Highlander. Ask her what she thinks about the Highlander?
@bighands69
@bighands69 8 жыл бұрын
It is not a Women's car. A Lexus would be a better choice as it would be as solid as a Highlander. It would also be as plush as a Range Rover and a Lexus would be more reliable as well.

Hey,I like that your wife gave some input. It puts a more practical spin on what a vehicle is like to live with. Most guys like the numbers, but most of our wives simply want to know if they can drive it and get the kids in and out. Please do more yin & yang reviews.

Looking at the RRS vs a Porsche Cayenne. It has the size and comfort. I wish the reviews had some more about the build quality. Porsche has mechanical problems too - but their overall build quality is tops.

For all intents and purposes my 2010 Range Rover sport SC has the same interior and you're right, it definitely lacks forethought and function. The styling is nice but even in the 2010 the rear seats are super hard and very uncomfortable for long trips. Actually if we want to go to Toronto or Montreal we'll take the Santa Fe. Much better for long trips if it's more than 2 people. The Range Rover line is more about safety, off road prowess, command seating and stage presence than interior functionality so keep that in mind if you're interested in getting one. If you have kids and are looking for a great all around daily driver, the Hyundai Santa Fe Sport limited is the way to go. Great on gas, excellent fit, form and functionality....... But it doesn't have 510 horsepower like my Rover. ;)
@fotagraft

Actually firm seats are proven to be more comfortable for long trips than softer ones. It's why German cars have them as well. I have a 2010 RR sport in ivory and it's fantastic.

I've seen 20 or more reviews of this car from US, UK and South Africa and this is the only one that criticizes the interior. The understated elegance has been completely lost in both the reviews they've done. Problem is they like buttons probably because they had a Cayenne which is all buttons. This has buttons but they are recessed to be flush with the other surfaces so they probably didn't notice them!

+mrdci we love the power and efficiency plus it looks fantastic. It is big for city driving but you would adjust. The interior is a bit of a let down. The dash is too basic and the kids hated the hard back seats. Our next car will probably be a Cayenne TDI.

Finally, someone that tells it like it is. The gauge cluster needs up dating. They need to take lesson from Lexus digital lighting gauges, take a look at The Benz c class, and also the interior of the Bently. By the way, maybe Range Rover should offer a model that offers less capability for those who do not want to take their 100,000 vehicle off road. Take this money and invest it in a more luxurious cabin.

I believe the size of the truck is not a matter and don't deserves special mention in the review because anyone who is willing to buy a Range Rover wants the truck to have exactly the size it already has. Want a small crossover for school runs? Buy a Renegade.

Great review, very down to earth full of information that any buyer can relate to. However, 11.8l/100km in a diesel is absolutely horrible. Isn't the whole point of buying a diesel fuel efficiency? My 2012 Charger gets 12.5l/100km (gas, not diesel ofc) city
