5v5 play is only good when you score, Carolina and the Rangers had the same amount of 5v5 goals. The possession might be skewed but that’s because they had 3 more power plays. Their penalty kill versus the islanders was like 73%, so it’s not really shocking the rangers scored 2 pp goals. I can see Rangers in 6, Definetly if they go up 2-0

I’m sick of this 5v5 NYR slander. They had the same goal amount 5v5 and Carolina had 6 more minutes in PP time. Even when the Car got into the zone, (which they did have time in, credit where due) they were kept to the outside and at the blue line.

I didn’t say the Rangers played bad 5v5. I said that the Hurricanes played well when it was 5v5. The Hurricanes were horrific on the PK and PP. The Rangers played good 5v5 as well.

My problem was refs didn't call 4 straight penalties on Canes at the end. Even the review of puck over the glass at the end you can see one of the Canes high sticking Ziba. Other then that I thought Rangers came out ready for war and they brought it. Canes are a REALLY good team and it showed this game, Rangers did outplayed canes physically or at least I thought they did.

As a rangers fan i knew this series was going to be a good one.even tnough i do not want this series gling to 7 but it may.the canes are a good team and if you make mistakes they can hurt you but the rangers a really good.

This game doesn't have me worried for the Hurricanes, I think the Hurricanes will win the next one. If they don’t, I will then be worried. But I'm not worried right now, Rangers outplayed the Hurricanes tonight and the Canes almost took the game back

Refereeing was so bad, as usual. Some of them were egregious, but then there were far more egregious ones missed and soft ones called. The NHL fixes these no doubt. The viewership would tank in the 3rd period for casual lookers-on if the Rangers go up 4-1 or 5-1 in the 3rd, a bunch of people shut the game off on stream/TV. The two 5v5 goals the Canes had were fluky. The first bounced off of everything it could've, their 2nd goal to make it 3-2 was a bad miss by Fox (who is certainly injured) and a boneheaded moved by Shesty. The 6v5 goal was off a 5-shot sequence hard to be really mad on that one. Rangers in 5. Canes are full of journeymen.
