Beautiful win. Povich's 1st MLB WIN! Silent J's 1st Grand Slam. Tony Tater's 13th June dinger. O's 61st homer in a month. 4 game winning streak after a 5 game slump. Sole possession of 1st Place in the AL East. The season is still young, but I like how this team handles adversity. "WE'll be alright". How do the Yankees handle adversity? Temper tantrums and showing up teammates, and sports media calls it raw emotion that might be a catalyst to them winning...ONE GAME!! Raw whoop @$$ by Blue Jays today!! Enjoying this season again!! Lets Go O's!!

No doubt. The Oriole players would never show their teammates up. They have too much class. Most of the Orioles came up together in the minors. Most of the Yankee players came from different teams. That's an advantage for the Orioles and a disadvantage for the Yankees.

He’s barely been here and I’m ridiculously confident in him, I get excited when he comes up especially in a big spot and he came up huge when the crowd was at its loudest, the moment was biggest and in the middle of a “let’s go O’s” chant he hit a grand slam, if that’s not a sign what the heck is?

Imma be honest. At the beginning I wasn’t completely sold on Cade. But when I watch him play he is definitely a good option for pitching. The only real negative with orioles pitching is the amount of walks that they give up. All in all a great team, but I would suggest trading some of our young hitters for pitchers like Cody mayo because of how many of them we have.

@BrutallyOrange5 ай бұрын
We are gonna score 7+ before it’s over. Still gonna hit a couple homers. Gonna make it interesting like we always do. This is an opportunity to have a real big moment mid season. A comeback against a team that swept us in the playoffs last year, to sweep them after being down 6 after 6, that would create a momentum that will take us right through the all star break and stay in the back of our minds all year. We haven’t had a big comeback like that this year, not one of this size and deficit and if we want to do something really special this year we could really use that special kind of confidence and motivation, having that could prove to be really important later in the year, possibly October, and doing it on the national stage will have it in the back of everyone’s mind when we are back on that national stage. It could even deflate teams if we have a decent lead if they know what we do when we are down big, let alone up big or by any margin.

How did Kjerstad hit a fastball off the plate in on his hands over the fence when he connected with the ball while his arms were bent at his elbows. I thought home runs required full extension and barrel with around 30 degrees of a launch angle? How did he muscle it over the wall at 39 degrees at 144 feet in the air? Remember, from a scouting perspective, Heston is supposed to be a better hitter than Gunnar, Adley, Cowser, Holliday, Westburg, Rutsch, Mayo and Mounty, especially for power / slugging. He looks comfortable and confident in the box, he looks intimidating as f*** because he’s a mountain of a human. If we could get Holliday into the outfield and Kjerstad/Westburg and Mounty to be able to play first, third and DH we would be set for real. If Kjerstad could play third as well as westy or first as well as Mounty and Mounty play third as well as westy, imagine how good the defense would be while the lineup would be relentless. 1. Gunnar SS 2. Rutsch C 3. O’Hearn DH 4. Mounty 1B/3B 5. Santander RF 6. Kjerstad 1B/3B 7. Westburg 2B 8. Cowser LF 9. Mullins CF Call up Mayo to split DH with O’Hearn for righty/lefty splits. Hays/Mateo/Urias on the bench in October with Mayo or O’Hearn. 30+ HR power 1-9, speed on the bench, great pinch hitters on the bench, great defense on the bench.
@cjlavender1935 ай бұрын
I live in Tampa. I have been watching Kjerstad play in spring training for the past few years. I can verify that he IS the better hitter out of the bunch. The bat just sounds different when he squares one up! He gives me Jim Thome vibes for sure!
@LovinLoyalty5 ай бұрын
@@cjlavender193 imagine adding a Jim Thome to this line up, a young Jim Thome, with a better swing and overall training/prep because of the era Silent J plays in versus Thome. You know people have said Mayo compared to Pujols? Then there’s still Holliday and I think Westburg is going to be Markakis reincarnated, but I think he will be a career 300-315 hitter. I think Cowser is gonna hit 280+, win a couple gold gloves and hit 25-30 HRs/year if he doesn’t reach his full potential for whatever reason which we will know because I think he still will have a couple 330+ 40HR seasons. I think his potential is Palmeiro reincarnated. Power from left/left-center to right with authority, leads the team with the most long distance home runs with the shortest being the moon shot go ahead homer against Atlanta. If he starts covering off speed and lefty’s like Gunnar I think you’ll see him flip a lot of basehits over shortstops with one hand on his front foot and flick ground ball doubles down the left field line the same way, but he will pull with power and authority. I mean this is his rookie season still, i feel like we all expect him to be as good as the second and third year guys because he makes you feel like he’s been here with them the whole time. But his rookie pace is right on the heels of Gunnar’s rookie campaign. But overall you got Gunnar, Adley, westykakis, Heston Thome, Coby pujols, cowmeiro and Holliday. Suddenly you forget about some of your best this year and in years past with Santander, Mullins and mountcastle. We need Holliday to go to the outfield, Mayo or Kjerstad need to become an elite third basemen, or first basemen with Mounty becoming an elite third baseman. The non-elite fielder is the DH. That’s the best lineup we can put out opening day next year. Holliday and Mayo would have the more limited playing time initially with Santander and Mullins getting the everyday priority. If the rookies catch fire…. Whoever isn’t playing well will see more limited action. Kjerstad can play the OF as well as Santander and both can play first, the depth is there no matter who is struggling. Mateo off the bench for speed, defensive replacement and situational pinch hitting. I’d drop McCann and call up Basallo next year too, teams good enough for him to get reps and learn at this level. Can’t be worse than McCann. And you still have one more bench spot available. This team is great this year, but next year is going to be insane, especially if Bradish comes back mid season 2025 and with Bautista coming back.
@cjlavender1935 ай бұрын
@DannieArre-br4ns This team has an insane 5-8 year window. It reminds me of the '96 Yankees. When a Uber talented trio of SS, C and P ended up being the cornerstone of a DYNASTY. Jeter, Posada and Petite came up together, and where there the whole time. I'm hoping we can do the same with Gunnar Adley and G-Rod. This is going to be a lot of fun. I definitely see multiple championships in the future! 🧡🤍🖤

Oriole batters have been hit as much as any team in the league. Yankee pitchers have been especially egregious having hit around 10 Oriole batters so far----some of it intentional. So hit batters is just a part of baseball. No one was intentionally throwing at Seager---just happens sometimes. So Oriole fans have nothing to apologize for.

Where is Keegan Akin??? How is he not the long man that Brandon Hyde goes to instead of Vespi? Vespi had some bad luck that led to a worse outing on the score card than it really was, but Akin is on way more rest. He hasn’t pitched since the 24th and a 4 run lead in the 4th is nothing with this lineup, a home run prone pitcher that we have already been hitting hard and a weak and beat up bullpen. And then there’s how similar Vespi’s stuff is to Cole’s. We do not mix in our relievers well enough at all man. Only the back end guys should be going multiple days in a row, and even that’s in games with a lead of 3 or less. This is just another game where we are mismanaged. Took the wind right out of our sails. Akin’s last 5 starts he’s allowed 1 earned run over 9 innings and 0 hits. So he’s thrown a collective no-hitter over his last 5 starts and he’s been on the bench for 6 days now. So with the off day the earliest he can pitch again is Tuesday which would be 8 days rest, so we will top that blunder off by bringing him in during a big moment in the game and set him up for failure. Now Heaney looks like a Cy Young winner because our heads are out of the game. The sad part is we could come back in one inning against this team no problem but it’s gonna require luck to get it started. Sell out crowd on national TV during the all star votings and we don’t put out our best effort out on the world stage. Annoying. Could have ended the day with sole possession, the best record in the AL, an 18-11 June record during a ridiculous battering of a schedule, but we got this instead. The polar opposite of what we really are.

Love these summaries every morning after listening to the games at 1 am here in Spain on @Orioles Birdwatcher here on KZbin where I'd otherwise not get the game, except through illegal means. These are the only summaries I've found not AI generated slashed-up junk. If you stop in on Birdwatcher, tell him thebookdoc sent you. I've got nothing to do with the channel except it lets me stay connected as a fan without struggling to find a stream, and as a 50+ year fan of the Os, I want him to succeed. Much as I love Palmer and MacDonald and Brown, MLB doesn't want to cultivate that new fan base by opening the airwaves. I grew into a fan listening to WBAL on Long Island (200 miles as the crow flies) - where the choices were Mets or Yankees. They are suffocating the sport with their push for exclusivity and stomping on the future of the sport. Go O's. WS or bust. This will be one of the greatest dynasties in the history of baseball.
